(Doing this mission! prodigious.boards.net/thread/65/faction-mission-stress)Why me?No, seriously. What could be the point of putting her, Kaida Adachi, in a social mission? In the beginning, she thought that perhaps it was a sort of undercover job, maybe she was supposed to intimidate some equally hidden enemy, or some uncooperative ally, but nearly an hour into this party, and nothing of the sort had reared its head. Already she had dropped her guard, lingering around tables filled to the edges with food. The Royals were doing what they did best, partying, and the heat of their presence was making her head hurt. She barely knew most of them. Yes, yes. She knew it was a part of the mission to interact with people, especially people she didn't know (again, why her?), but a break was needed. Just a small break, it wasn't like she was being disobedient. Under the table, the cloth rippled, and she spotted an orange fin peek out in anticipation. Like this was the most normal thing in the world, Kaida swiftly flung the near entirety of some burnt smelling fish down towards the movement. It never touched the ground, swift fangs shooting out and disappearing back into their hiding spot before anyone could see. Gnaw would probably have to go to the designated Digimon area soon, if only to avoid being stepped on, but not many Digimon were even obeying that rule, so why should they? A minute dragged on, her plate was empty, another minute, she was going to have to go out there...wasn't she? A tired sigh escaped her lips, and she shuffled around to glare at the partygoers, trying to put steel in her gut before she joined the headache makers. Ikou Kimura Kyoryoku

Concepts such as high society - they were so different from anything she had experienced in the feral digital world...
But thanks to the fortune Ikou had been blessed with that was stumbling upon the royals during her first accidental hours on Earth, she perceived it as wonderful and not with envy. The reason why these noble people had invited her to stay so unhesitatingly was still beyond her as she was quite unfamiliar with sentiments like cordiality and sympathy in this life, but it was obvious that she beamed with gratitude with every step she gracefully strode. Felicity was not even beginning to describe the bliss she felt, but one thing was for sure. This opportunity would not be unused.
The small BlackSalamon sat quietly on the arm rest of a fancy, cuddly couch, calmly and intriguedly observing what it meant to throw a proper party. So many individuals, nearly all of them humans, who wore expensive dresses and suits to hide the shame they considered their unclothed selves. The scents of delicacies and perfumes lingered perpetually, almost numbing her other senses from sheer dominance. Plenty of words were spoken, though none of them carried any relevance tonight. Nothing but debauchery to savor escapism. Were their daily grinds so strenuous? What had they accomplished to deserve this well-being most did not have? Curious...
The dark and white kitten remained on her spot close to the entrance to the digimon area, not understanding yet gladly complying to the eventual separation that would be enforced on her kind. Why, if this group of noblemen advocated absolute freedom, did they prefer division, furthering ignorance? Was she not cute and courteous enough? No, it was likely her less adapted kin, not few of them being chummy partners of those who possessed a digivice. Perhaps this evening was excellent to get out of her caution and initiate adequate acquaintanceship.
Blinking once, the somewhat unassuming cat's golden eyes continued to take in her gargantuan, shiny surroundings. What an astounding place this planet with its fragile yet flexible apex species was. And how... snug her fine, blue dress was, making her feel beautiful and mellow.

What a truly lovely night, yet another celebration of their overwhelming success. However, not all truly knew how to celebrate just as Kimura intended. Exactly why he roams the dance floor on some of these nights, truly caring for the well being of others. Probably moreso than some of these animals cared for themselves. Walking through the dance floor, the man had been wearing casual attire on this night; Slimming black henley with the top button of three undone, midnight blue chinos cuffed near his ankles, some basic dress shoes he couldn't care less about. If there's one thing he learned from throwing party after party, it was that he shouldn't bring any of his expensive clothes. Do you know how many times he's had his shoes scuffed from being stepped on in wild crowds or getting alcohol spilled on him because some asshole thinks that's what the balcony is for?
"I DON'T WANNA WORK TODAY! MAYBE I JUST WANNA STAY! JUST TAKE IT EASY 'CAUSE THERE IS NO STRESS!"
The DJ was actually killing it tonight, not that Kimura could take time to admire the work of this disc jockey they hired. Gonna have to make sure they keep his name on a list, seems to have really studied his craft in a way the King of the Royals liked. After a moment, the thought left his head as he kept walking through the dance floor on the first level of their venue, starting to really get into the thick of things. As he kept moving around the ever increasing crowd, the annoyance of everyone's body heat piled on top of him, along with the idiotic behavior of his own people. Kimura was never one to tell anyone not to enjoy themselves and have a good time, but there were some rules he liked to follow. One of them was not to do it at the expense of other people; just because you're having a good time doesn't mean someone wants to spend their good time with you.
Which brings us to this drunk ass bitch trying to grind on him, the look on her face was absolutely revolting. 'Why is it that every party or rave, whenever I go through the crowd, someone finds it appropriate to touch me?' Kimura thought to himself. Yes, it made sense that he, as an attractive and powerful male would be the first pick. Obviously most of these people could pick him out no matter how far gone they were on alcohol or drugs. Didn't mean he found this in any way, shape, or form acceptable. When will they get it through their thick skulls that he is simply above them, their wants, their needs, their desires? After a set of seconds that dragged on too long for him, he gave her a light shove and a sharp tone of voice, "No." Didn't care if she could hear him, he was already headed out.
Soon, he would be entering towards the middle of the crowd, only to be further disgusted by how some of these clowns behaved. Yes, he always referred to each and every one of them as a prince or princess, but tonight it seemed they were more like jesters. What is with this absolute debauchery of getting completely shitfaced and thinking you could just slam your body into anyone around you? As he watched this one partygoer get a little too worked up in the music, Kimura lifted the walkie talkie that previously had been hooked too his belt. "Yeah, can someone get this asshole a seat and some water? He's far passed gone. Middle right, roger," A very serious command that his men knew all too well, escort this gentleman right out of his fucking sights.
Outside of the generally pathetic way some of these people acted, it wasn't all too bad. Fights hadn't broken out, never had they been a common occurrence. Most of the times, He'd dealt with people too lost in the sauce having a glorified shoving match. Some people may've been getting a little too deep into their cup, but they'd be with their friends and wouldn't want to be on a blacklist. Most of these people honestly kept to themselves, except for the lonely and desperate, thinking they can find love at clubs and parties. As he worked his way out of the crowd, the accomplished man decided his shift was done and headed upstairs to fill his own cup. Nothing too reckless tonight, he wasn't in the mood.
"IT'S NOT THAT I'M LAZY; I THINK I'M JUST CRAZY! IT'S NOT THAT I'M LAZY; I THINK I'M JUST CRAZY!"
Taking his walk up the stairs passed a couple of 'resting' individuals and a private make-out session, he'd soon be at the bar and getting his order prioritized. Not like anyone's going to mind him getting his shot of tequila first, they knew it was King Kimura after all. Taking his shot and downing it without hesitation, he left the glass and took a seat on the nearby couch, not really spying much except for the black pup resting themselves in all the noise. There was some abruptly skittish girl throwing away her plate, but he wasn't paying her any mind. Seems like she wanted to be alone for the most part. Placing his head back against the cushion, the man sighed and just let his body loosen for a moment. He wasn't tired yet, but there wasn't a feeling of enjoyment that he sought tonight. Honestly, what was his actual plan?

Sharp eyes were practically glaring from underneath the table. " More?" An almost sheepish word from Gnaw, and Kaida shook her head sharply. She knew when the little Digimon had enough, and it was liable to burst if she kept feeding it! " Go to the others." She leaned on the table to try and obscure her speaking to Gnaw, still not quite understanding the need to hide them. " I have to...tch..."have fun" so that people think we're impressive." How those two ideas for together? God knows. She started to yawn as Gnaw grumbled and refused to leave, planning on stalling just a little longer, and froze. Perhaps to a drunkard or overtly happy partier, he might be missed. Kaida was neither, and the King was a terribly huge presence in the room. " Gnaw. Now. Leader's here." Her voice clipped and strong, there was no room for argument, " Follow the rules...at least pretend." She jerked her chin at another Digimon nearby, a little black creature that seemed more comfortable here than the actual human, and Gnaw darted from under the table, intent on obeying their Tamer... In the events that unfolded, Kaida regretted not telling Gnaw to at least be careful. Energy coursed through her being as, halfway to where the other Digimon rested, Gnaw squealed as some idiot raised his drink, stumbled back, and placed his full foot on Gnaw's front claw. Kaida was there in an instant, eyes wide with fury as the man looked back and forth between her and Gnaw, opened his mouth, and drawled, " Tell t'at frog to...to get...outta he're, I'ma dancin' here!" For a few seconds, much of the crowd would have blocked out this confrontation to all but the nearby Digimon, and then it became a spectacle when Kaida drew a hand back and, lips pulled back in a toothed frown, and bowled the man over with barely a warning to the surrounding partygoers. Shockingly, this did little to dissuade the party except to give a wide berth around her and to quiet down a little, giving a clear view of a woman looming over a man, Digimon at her feet in clear defiance of this being decidly not where Digimon were supposed to stay. " What the...what the hell was that for!?" He blundered through the words, pain doing wonders against drunkenness. For not the first time, a thrill of pride shot through Kaida, and a jagged smile started to drift onto her face, " I'm a Royal and you stepped on my Digimon. What was I supposed to do? Let you hurt my partner!?" She could feel the looks of some Digimon taking note of her words and the simple fact that a Betamon was where the humans were, some even starting to shuffle closer as if they thought the rule was invalidated. Yet Kaida wasn't taking note. Kaida was busy picking a fight with an idiot. Kaida had forgotten anyone could be watching, and she especially forgot that the King was nearby... Ikou Kimura Kyoryoku

Although somewhat bothersome, it was no surprise to the dark kitten that the numbing odor of strong alcohol entered her fine snub nose. Blinking a couple of times, Ikou calmly and quietly observed the man who was the source of this unpleasant stench, still constantly wondering why humans had such an affection for inebriating substances. Weren't self-control and a sharp mind preferable over reckless ecstasy? Not that she claimed to comprehend the culture of this world, but was it not detrimental to their health, too? Was their enjoyment more important to them than their well-being? Again - curious...
However, these thoughts born out of inquisitiveness quickly faded as the BlackSalamon recognized the face of the individual who desired to rest next to her on the couch. Kimura Kyoryoku - the de facto leader of the Maddened Royals and the person who was responsible, directly or indirectly, for the sanctuary she had in his ranks. On that fateful night a short time ago, she had been weak, lost and confused, hence she did not quite remember if she had encountered him before; faces blurry like the neon lights that filled the streets of Tokyo. Inter-dimensional travel, especially an accidental one, had its toll.
Golden eyes briefly lingered on the apparently tired ruler who visibly reposed. With an unwound posture she bowed her head to the renowned king whom she felt a great debt of gratitude for. "Good evening, sire." Ikou humbly greeted the young adult. Her expression of respect and gratefulness were absolutely genuine, particularly because the sable cat enjoyed the excellent mannerisms of the Japanese. It was so unlike the feral souls that blighted the digital realm, though she did not pretend that everything was hunky-dory. Obviously, there were grave conflicts at hand.
Remaining perfectly relaxed as to be expected from an observant feline, she reassumed her previous stance on the arm rest to gladly watch further happenstances during this strange yet noble festivity. Naturally, Madame Adachi's forceful conflict with an intoxicated guest caught her attention. In spite of her hidden bafflement, she did not interfere as to avoid causing a greater commotion. Besides, if nothing else, this was another decent learning experience.

It seemed that he filled his cup a tad too early, but alas. One shot wouldn't hurt him, but for some reason, it became enticing afterwards. You can never stop at just one, which was demonstrated by one of the guests in front of them. Seems he lost his footing in the excitement of the chase and stumbled on an amphibian digimon. The social climate they experienced wasn't entirely ready for them, but to shelter their existence would be a further mistake. That's why Kimura never entirely got upset about them being outside of their specific area, some of them were more attached to their human counterpart than their digital brethren. However, when such a reaction occurs, it's bound to catch all others off guard, just as that man had been.
During the incident, the prime digidestined was looking over to the arm rest of his couch and exchanging greetings with another digimon. Once again, not in the area he'd enjoy to view them in, but there was still no ill will. The young man nodded his head back in courtesy, "Good evening, young princess." Before he could give her a comforting embrace-- or as others would call it, pet her-- a man had been shoved to the floor. Snapping his head back in the direction of the conflict, he'd be watching one of his members boast their privileges to the obviously hammered partygoer. It's always one thing after another, but watching one of his own flex their status was something that tired him these days. Who exactly was the last person besides himself to accomplish anything worth a 'damn' in their social club?
"NO NEED TO FIGHT AGAINST MY FEELINGS! BECAUSE THE LIFE IS NOT DEPRESSING!"
The music continued to blast throughout the area, quite a marvelous speaker system they had. Sadly, it couldn't contain the situation surrounding them, it was quite obvious more than a few of the unaligned would be watching them and speculating. Digimon might be a naturally occurring phenomena to them, but the rest of the world viewed it with this morbid curiosity. The same kind of morbid curiosity that drives people to create a negative image in their mind, sponsored by media watchdogs. The spectacle was enough for tonight, there was no reason for further escalation; The man was getting ready to raise himself in an effort to counter-shove this lady. Before the drunkard could find his feet, Kimura had made his words law, "You. Dance floor is downstairs. If you're gonna make an idiot of yourself, then do it downstairs."
That was the only enforcement needed on his part, words cutting sharp like a knife. Despite the overwhelming sound bumping off the bass, the reaction was clear enough. The man, noticing that another party decided to involve themselves in his dispute, could have decided to get angry with them. However, even the wasted can understand why this would be a terrible idea and just shrugged as he took his leave, albeit sluggishly. Now there was the problem of this lady & her digimon, two people who should know better than to ruin these gatherings. Royals may have gotten in for free, but a decent amount of the money is returned at the door as the 'uninvited' turn up. They may know what's going on in Tokyo's underground scene, but they don't really understand or accept it.
It's hard to remind these new age tamers that their digimon are still being treated like second class citizens, with a whole organization willing to remove you from society for any mistakes. Thankfully, this was not like one of those, there wasn't as large of an impact and nothing had to be repaired. Escalation of the problem wouldn't bode well for either parties, most of the damage would be done to those whose views are unclear on digital creatures. Clearing his throat, Kimura took the reigns once more, "Hey, escort your digimon to their area and come back. He's too big to stay out here. What is he, 30kg?" Maybe it was a little rude to assume the weight of her partner, but it wasn't like he'd be far off in this estimate.
Let's see how this girl decides to play with a straight order right after boasting her status in their group. Would she easily humble herself and chose to follow the will of what is correct, or will she try to gain clout by showing less than courteous manners? Kimura honestly couldn't remember who this girl exactly was, but then again, there's very few other members that have actually spoken to him one on one now. Everyone seemed so afraid of their king, but what had caused such a disconnect? Was he getting old? Nah, he's still cool, nothing has changed about him since the start of puberty.

A fight. A fight was much easier to get into without trouble. It was nice, comforting, rather than showing your teeth in a grin and pretending these alcohol smelling people were her friends. They didn't have Digimon and just wanted to party using the Royals money, what was the point of associating with them? Her hands trembled with rage as the man stood up and-
The king made his order.
A mixture of confusion and offense leapt across Kaida's face, as if the idea of someone stopping her from hurting someone or getting hurt was...odd. The confusion lingered on her face even as Kimura gave her instructions on what to do, but Gnaw reacted faster, bristling as they spat. "He s-stepped on...me! Kaida did n-noth-" The words suddenly trailed away as Kaida straightened out, looking over the man who had halted a perfectly good fight and was now telling her what to do. It was like she didn't recognize her own leader, or maybe perhaps a hound looking over its leader for a weakness...and finding none.
The order wasn't one she could ignore. She was too weak to hold up against an order with just a Betamon.
"Let's go Gnaw." She finally conceded, "Looks like you don't got a place with the humans up here." She kept her hands behind herself, fighting to keep the trembling from migrating to the rest of her body as she guided Gnaw, abandoned them all alone...by the time she got back, she had failed to keep the defiance to just her hands. One of her eyes twitched and quirked her mouth upwards, but she barely managed to keep her voice steady as she spoke. "Gnaw liked the food here. They deserved it." Her voice was completely dispassionate, and her eyes were low, but it didn't change the fact that she had just talked back, even as she begrudgely lingered by the couch, awaiting some other order. Without Gnaw, all she could do was stay around her fellows, and she trusted another Digimon and her leader more than she trusted total strangers, loath as she was to admit it.

Hearing being called princess was a strange yet delightful experience. Deep inside, Ikou knew that in this life she had not accomplished anything to deserve such courtesy, nor was she a vain soul who relished much less expected this kind of courtliness. Yet it was difficult for her not to smile as glee briefly breached the lady's firm veil of grace and sophistication. Truth be told she was cautious of the impact others had on her, not to mention her own stalwart ego. If nothing else, amidst the chaos her past had taught her uncountable, valuable lessons. One of them was the fragility of bliss, serenity and hope.
However, the BlackSalamon would not have refused her sire's comforting embrace. Her aureate eyes widened for a second before the gentleman abruptly stopped his approach, leaving her baffled. That was until she realized the important matter at hand that required the intervention of an authority figure. Naturally understanding the significance of this action, the dark kitten pushed previous sentiments of pleasure into the enigmatic depths of her mind. Instead, her outer shell reassumed the dominance over her spirit, enabling her to focus and internalize the event unfolding close to her.
The supremacy King Kyoryoku emanated was unfathomable. Both the drunken stranger and Kaida were swayed to do as he commanded through mere words alone. They were not appeals but somewhat strict commands. Most of all they sufficed to bring the conflict to an immediate end, just as the master desired. Impeccable! Ikou had almost forgotten how worthwhile and manifold power could be. Physical strength was fine, but it was the influence on their minds that truly intrigued her. It was elegant, peaceful and effective. Hopefully, the renowned leader would permit her to learn from him.
In spite of the ma'am's and her partner's initial defiance, it only took a moment for compliance to settle the dispute. Eventually she returned to them by herself, visibly nervous if not immensely fidgety. What had gotten into her that had taken this high toll on her heart? Nodding upon listening to her statement, the BlackSalamon of course understood whence the stress of the mademoiselle came. She too did not appreciate the segregation, but it was crystal clear that mankind and digimons were not capable of coexistence yet. Patience and sympathy for each other were necessary for harmony to become the status quo. Unfortunately, the majority achieved the antithesis as they fumbled in ignorance.
It was as curious as it was deplorable. However, the relaxed cat had no intention of philosophizing tonight. Instead, her concerned gaze shifted to the comely female. "Good evening, Madame Adachi." She greeted her, expressing respect and comity with another, less pronounced bow. The feline digimon would have asked if she enjoyed her stay, but it was obvious that this question would have led to an unpleasant response. No... a well-meaning offer was more suitable. "Please, have a seat."

The reaction was a bit disheartening, although not a feeling he misunderstood from the tamer & her digimon. She just wanted to stay with him, which is fair. No rule specifically said humans cannot go to the digimon side and hang out there; Just that digimon of a certain size couldn't linger on the human side. That's why he didn't mind Ikou on the couch, she was around 5kg if not less and generally took up as much space as a fresh born pup. Honestly, the biggest worry on her part was some sorority sister from a nearby college picking her up and making her their unofficial mascot. The expression that Kaida's face, tone, and body language held wasn't one that remained pleased with the situation, but had complied regardless.
It was like scolding a child for doing the right thing the wrong way, it hurts all parties involved but must be done. At this moment, she was being called over to the couch by the young digimon near them, probably planning on comforting her. Kimura wasn't going to do similarly, instead clearing the air on why things happened the way they did, "Does it look like I care if you decked the guy? Honestly, you could go downstairs right now and pop him one and I wouldn't move from this couch. This isn't about who deserved it, this is about protocol. You know better; everyone here knows better. If your digimon has a weight above 20kg, it has to be in its specified area. I could give less of a shit if that guy gets hurt for acting like a dumbass-- He probably fell on his face the way downstairs. This is about reputation."
One of his personal beliefs within the Royals is that they represent his reputation-- That of power and of the judgement that stems from it. There was a reason he was fit to be called a king, destiny allowed for such a role. "At the end of the day, do I want news coverage about how the Royals are a violent and malicious group that uses digimon to fuel the underlying violence in Tokyo? No, because we aren't fucking Anathema. Now, if one of those assholes want all the smoke, let them have it. They'll get there's. However, until I rightfully own Tokyo the way I should, we're not gonna stop getting stories about how digimon are terrible creatures that shouldn't be accepted by our society."
Is he really lecturing someone when he's supposed to be hosting a party? Is that what this evening has come to? Whatever, he was feeling the tension in his body loosen as he tore into her disrespectful display. Yeah, her digimon was right, she did do nothing wrong. Doesn't mean she did anything right either. "So, you can stop acting selfish and go hang out with him in the digimon room or grab a drink and cool right the fuck off," An idea Kimura was thinking about doing himself. What would be wrong with another shot of tequila? Not like he was doing anything truly productive. Even if this conversation lead her to understand him better, neither of them really benefit because the cause and effect did not change whatsoever.
Whether she chose to join them or not didn't matter to him, like he said earlier. She could go right downstairs, take that man outside, and beat the living shit out of him. Wouldn't impact the current political climate regarding digimon. The Royals protect their own and as long as no eyewitnesses see one of their digital partners around, it made it all that much easier. One could say he was harassing her, trying to put his hands on her, and that she was just defending herself. It was what she was doing earlier, if you consider her betamon to be an extension of her identity. Probably the only admirable mentality a tamer could have, understanding that it is a part of them that will stay forever. Sadly, most of these people would never have the experience he did, but maybe that was for the better.

At the feline's polite request, Kaida took a seat, stealing a glance at the small Digimon. She would have left had it been a human, she thought, but the Digimon taking the initiative seemed to calm the woman a little. Key word. A little. Without a thought, she angrily tossed her hand to the side and...tried to pet Ikou as the king started his lecture. At the very least, she was listening, judging by her nodding at regular intervals.
Own Tokyo? The thought was agonizing. With their numbers, their Digimon, and especially money, Kaida had simply assumed to herself that they already did own the city. It just seemed so impossible that anything could potentially harm them by this point...but Kaida just sighed, leaned on her arms, and mumbled, "I'll...take the drink. Gnaw's still mad at me. Doesn't want to talk to me." She didn't need two lectures today.
It smelled awful. Until it was affecting you, it even tasted horrible, like drinking fire. But she didn't want to leave. Like it or not, she had to be around these people. "Can we own it soon?" She suddenly piped up, staring at her drink until her eyes burned at the smell, "I'll fight in the shadows until then, but I don't like seeing only a few Digimon out here...heh...most of these humans should just leave." She delivered the last comment in a tone of voice so low, only the two near her should have been able to hear her, "So...true freedom coming soon?" A place where Gnaw could sit next to her, sampling the fiery alcohol? That'd be nice. Just give her something to fight when gnaw got bored, and it might as well be paradise.

Although Ikou was quite displeased by her sire's deteriorating, foul vocabulary, she had no difficulty recognizing the wisdom in his statements. Reputation was indeed a powerful asset, and the chosen king of the royals had no intention of letting it fall into disrepute. Infighting and pressure from medial sensationalism that widened the division between mankind and digimons were among the last occurrences they required to dominate Tokyo and eventually vanquish all those who opposed liberty, sanity and reason. Peace, elation and cosmopolitanism - those were the ways members had to carry themselves with to assure the future they desired had a chance to become reality.
Remaining relaxed and silent as to be expected, the BlackSalamon watched as Kaida chose to accept her invitation by sitting down on the couch that was an excellent vantage point to behold a significant part of the ongoing party. Not that the dark kitten was actually interested in what many of the intoxicated gawks were doing with their bodies as a substitute for dancing, but it continued to be a learning experience to her. As a young princess, that was her obligation she considered a proud duty, even if it was unpleasant at times. The numbing scents of alcohol and bodily moisture were certainly unsavory.
At first, Ikou was startled by the lady's angered fist, until she noticed that it unclenched and changed to an open palm. Taking in a deep breath, the swart cat gently leaned against it, permitting the expressive female to do what lots of humans enjoyed - caressing what they perceived as adorable and innocuous. Though it was a new and strange sensation to the amiable virus, it was also very genial. Odd how pleasant soft touches could be. It was not something she had felt in an unfathomably long time, but petting remained desirable.
And if it served to calm Madame Adachi and strengthen their bond, it was an exceptional action to let happen. Quietly listening to her declaration of will, the BlackSalamon quickly recognized the beauty she carried within her heart in spite of her rough shell. Her wishes were admirable, and if it was not for her inexperience and placidity she would have voiced her support to Kimura. But again, the feline had no desire to cause a conflict. Instead, she showed her endorsement by simply staying by her side regardless of the nauseous, biting smell of her drink.
Maybe she understood her gesture... maybe not. Ikou did not worry either way. There were more tomorrows to come for amity to bloom if her acquaintance sought it.

Of course, as with any child getting lectured they wished not to respond in fear of further discourse. Honestly, Kimura could go on for days about the ramifications of their idiotic society and how restrictive it was. You think he just came back from the digital world with open arms? Nay, they were forced open by his newly hardened mentality grasped by thoughts of the possible realities. The inclusion of digimon in every day life had shaken the foundations of nature to its very core and that absolutely scared those with no experience. It was like a form of racism that was impossible to tackle because it had no perceived shape. Maybe species-ism is a far better term.
However, even with his genuine explanation, there still came the question of when this supposed freedom would come. Whether it was in their grasp or not. While, yes, they did have a generally overwhelming support among tamers, their group wasn't as exclusively for them as he wanted it to be. Some stragglers remained in the likes of the Heralds, the No Namers, & even a few chose to work directly against them in the splinter cell of HYPNOS. Everyone's ideals seemed at odds with one another, which lead to the modern conflict they've had brewing for over ten years. It seemed that they were at the end of the their rope with the current system homogenizing itself.
"Look, if I really wanted to, I could go overthrow the government on my own. Would that actually serve to our purpose though? No. You can't just own the land; I would know, I literally own the property we're in. Even though I own this place, does everyone here like the existence of digimon?" The rhetorical question could be answered by looking just a bit back into the evening with the event that caused this conversation. Most people still didn't know what they were seeing when a digimon appeared, just because of the fact that so many exist. On one hand, you can get really used to a certain sub-species and then it simply changes through the nature of digivolution.
People just needed to understand the base idea of digimon & their inner workings, how their minds and personalities were no different of their own. That was the entire crux of their message, yet no one really saw it because so much goes on in their faction. It was even harder to hear that this tamer didn't enjoy other humans, just other digimon like it had been doing with Ikou. It was genuine, but it wasn't the same kind of unity he'd hoped for. You have to be able to enjoy the company of both to create a true harmony in this world.
Kimura decided to stand, pushing his feet to cause his knees to straighten from their original seated position. He'd lean over to one side, a little closer to them as he stretched his back, "There are ideas to consider and no reason to rush into them. Soon enough though, before the year is over, there will be one less faction." It was quite an ominous set of words with no real conclusion. It didn't need one, they just needed the idea in their head that something, anything, will change. It creates this anxiety that burgeons a passion, especially if one is already willing to fight for their cause. All it needed now was a way to occur, a catalyst to set the work into motion and fully revitalize the maddened machine.
The king himself would return to the bar and down another shot without much thought, without much plans of returning to his previous conversation. He had to spread his words elsewhere, there were more people who needed to know what was going to happen. All said as vaguely as he just did, with no extra information attached on who, how, or what. They only knew when and where right now: Before the end of the year; In Tokyo. The pressure itself will cause the actions to stir.

There. Ominous words. Confidence, as if he had already seen the future and confirmed his plan. A faction would be gone? So that was the plan? Destroy their rivals first? Kaida...could understand that. The only people who were a danger were other Digimon users.
She watched him go with narrowed eyes, thinking, and blurted out to the feline Digimon next to her, "I like our king." It wasn't a lie, and she flashed her teeth in some semblance of a smile after the walking king. Her opinion given to a single being, she proceeded to hold her breath and gulp down the alcoholic concoction, turning her head away to choke out her disgust.
Yup. A party was still crap. But they were heading somewhere. The least she could do was choke down this awful liquid, show her teeth, and pretend this was important a little longer.
(Thank you for doing a mission with me!)

As to be expected from someone that was considered a king among princes and princesses, Kimura continued to display sagacity despite his unrestrained command of words. Wisely so, instead of trying to simply overthrow those who opposed him, he sought to attain the favor and assistance of those who did not yet align with him. Peace and uniformity could not be enforced, only nurtured. Patience was indeed one of the most valuable virtues the mind had ever developed. To Ikou's delight, her sire was clearly not bereft of it. Her leader was a cosmopolitan, tactician and had a sharp tongue - A choice quality person in spite of obvious flaws.
Unlike what Master Kyoryoku thought however, the BlackSalamon did not perceive his statement at all as ominous. No... his implicit call to action was intriguing. Though he left her without clear answers, she was not bothered. The anticipation of removing a faction from the chessboard was burning within her core like a blaze of passion. Besides, certainly Hypnos and Anathema were groupings that had to wiped out to secure potential coexistence, not? The Heralds and the No-Names seemed insignificant in comparison as they were no direct opponents to the Royal's cause. Still, the dark cat kept her opinions open to be changed until the time of this year's end arrived to reveal the truth.
"I do as well." Ikou responded calmly to Kaida while stretching herself. Continuing to lean against her soft hand she yawned once, feeling the mental strain of the party take its toll on her endurance. Perhaps a short catnap was optimal to regain her vigilance. Yeah... that appeared to be just right, especially in the presence of lady Adachi's warmth. Surely she would guard her or bring her to the room where all the other digimons were if necessary. Ultimately, she too was a good individual, was she not? Yes... placing any doubt on her allies that was not reasonable was unbecoming.
A future - it felt as if it was finally reachable. That she was merely a small part of it was of no concern to her.
