Despite his fierce appearance, Pythios is a real sweetheart with a close bond with his tamer. He's almost that of a little brother, and looks up to Itsuki and cares about him about as deeply as an older one. However, he's still a very brave soul and will go to the deepest reaches of the earth for those he cares about. He's generous, but not necessarily pacifistic.

Pythios enjoys battle, and is a very competitive digimon at heart. Challenges drive him forth, and danger seems to call out to him like an angered bull. That being said, he often will go out of his way to support other digimon as well as humans, and believes that there's more to the madness surrounding the events of the virus than meets the eye. He's surpassingly good at cooperation, though sometimes can behave very boldly and bossy in those types of situations.

Quite unlike his tamer, battles cause him to go from a more quiet and responsible digimon to a hotheaded impatient dragon in a heartbeat, almost akin to a mythical berserker. In later forms, this behavior tends to become far worse for wear as he becomes far less level-headed and more fiery and aggressive.
