HEAVEN'S GATES WON'T OPEN UP FOR ME
To say that Kuro was a bit lost about the whole Digi-Modify scene was a bit of an understatement... not that she minded too much. It was honestly a relief to see the tension between all the varying tamers and civilians alike melt away somewhat with the dawn of the Akihabara GameCon. She didn't have many cards despite their usefulness among tamers, nor did she have experience playing the card game it was based off of... but the atmosphere was at the very least pleasant. The blue-haired girl alongside the half-asleep Sleepmon that resting on her shoulder were both more spectators to the scene... Looking at the varying cards and sets on display, watching matches of Digi-Modify (even if she barely understood the rules)... there were actually plenty of things to do at the event despite her lack of understanding of the card game itself. Plenty of people to talk to... there were actually several younger kids and teenagers took great interest in the fact that she had a Digimon of her own (something Tea has been more or less eating up). "Gee, dis is one heck of a nerd convention. Why does dis have to be the one time where everyone can get along anyway?" the Rookie level idly spoke as the pair passed by a display case of some of the newest sets, briefly tugging at their tamer's hair. "Can't we just go home? I wanna watch Boku No Hero!""We're here to help keep watch and make sure nothing goes wrong. Its our duty in the Heralds to help sustain the peace." the bespectacled girl demurely smile, eyeing one set of packs. She liked the art of the cards a ton... Surprising how much personality was put into them by the artists! She wondered how the game started to begin with... It seemed like the game came first, but was it really? Oh... The wonders of mysteries.

Naturally, Ikou too was a novice at the card game that would be exalted the coming days, and neither did she care to get too acquainted with it. Certainly it was an amusing means to spend leisure time for the content and unaspiring, but she was not like a human who dedicated a significant part of its existence to such indulgences. Ironic considering the differences in lifespans. Still, an occasional hour of fun was fine, but she preferred to strive for greater goals, as did those who'd utilize their accomplishments to achieve vile results. Unfortunately, that was the nature of digimons and power itself - insatiable avarice.
However, the BlackSalamon was not here to philosophize, but to fulfill her duty. If she was not intrigued by the prospect of mingling with the fans or becoming the center of attention of gawking apes, then it was her responsibility to serve as a faithful peacekeeper. This convention was a decent idea to establish a sense of unity among rivaling factions, but she doubted its ability to cause a lasting impact on them. Zealotry, xenophobia and delusions of supremacy were not that easily vanquished. Regardless, it were only the mindless savages of her kind that worried her, not the frenzied children of mankind.
With a graceful, quiet leap did Ikou come to a halt, observing the current, massive hallway from the shadows of a corner's potted plants. Thanks to the pervasive, glaring neon lights, the black kitten's presence was not too easy to perceive, especially for those fully occupied with amusement. Most people present were. As often, nothing noteworthy happened. The sole exception was a young woman carrying a Sleepmon on her shoulders. As faintly gleaming, golden eyes lingered on her, the dark cat wondered why she was so nonchalant with the digimon who was likely associated with her.
Wasn't division and willful ignorance usually advocated by everyone with a modicum of authority or desire for self-preservation? Well... the local chaos had not gotten any worse; that was for sure. Curious...

HEAVEN'S GATES WON'T OPEN UP FOR ME
Tea did not share the same sentiments of societal duty as her tamer... It was fine and all to want to preserve the peace, but who was seriously gonna start a ruckus at a dork convention? She just didn't see it as a likely event anytime soon. Better ways to use their time than wait on a threat that had a ninety-nine point nine nine percent chance of not happening period. "Mmm... We should go get some burg in a bit Kuro-kun... ~ I'm hungry for some fries!" the sheep mused as they tugged at their shirt; their ears twitching slightly. Despite the pajama-wearing Digimon's dopey appearance, they were not unaware of their environment. Humans all smelled the same to her (well, mostly... depending on if they bathed recently or not), but they weren't as distinctive as the scent of a Digimon. No, she didn't know where... but she did sense that there were other Digimon hidden amidst the crowds. She didn't feel threatened though... The human world wasn't like the Digital World, where you had to more or less watch your back every waking moment. "Besides, even if we leave... I'm pretty sure any commotion dat does get started will get handled by da tamers who ARE here." the sheep mused, hoping to at least convince the girl things would be fine. "I know, but I also do want to be here! I'm wanting to learn more about the cards and how they could help us potentially after all!" the girl cheerfully countered, for a moment debating if she wanted to shell out the yen for some packs while they were here. However, before she could really dwell on this further... she swore that she for a moment she caught something in the corner of her eye. Well, at least she thought she did. The girl paused, giving a quizzical look towards an inconspicious set of plants... before simply assuming it to be just a trick in her mind. Right?

Though curious to learn more, Ikou was incapable of perceiving any coherent conversation in this vociferous crowd of excited fans and unpleasant, malodorous warmth. Naturally, since the Sleepmon was the only real 'suspect' who caught her attention, it was on her that the dark kitten's golden eyes lingered. Of course she held no prejudice against Tea despite her cautiousness. Observing her was but a precautionary measure in case a ruckus occurred for a reason that involved the digidestined's partner. As a faithful guardian, she merely obliged to fulfill her imposed task.
Hence the BlackSalamon remained calmly in the shadows of the potted plant she had chosen to be her vantage point. Although startled, even as the young girl turned to her she kept her unwound poise and inner composure. If the lady knew of her presence then that was actually not a bad thing in hindsight. It could lead to an interesting encounter or a bizarre 'pursuit'. However, it seemed as if she did not react at all to Ikou looking back at her. Was Kuro not able to perceive her in the dim light of the convention's edges? Curious... but acceptable.

HEAVEN'S GATES WON'T OPEN UP FOR ME
Tea merely gave her partner a nonchalant shrug; the Rookie level just did not share her partner's same sentiments on a personal level. She didn't mind Kuro going out to do stuff like this, but why did she feel the need to bring her along as well? "Myehhh... Whatevah girl. You do you I guess." the sheep Digimon mumbled, merely stretching lazily on the girl's shoulder... albeit not before opening an eye and seeing a pair of gleaming gold-eyes staring from the shadows. So that was where that feeling came from... Was Tea worried about someone watching them without them knowing? Ehhh... not really. What was there to really worry about at a place like this? It wasn't like anyone WOULD start up a ruckus... at least anyone with the means to make such an effort worthwhile. What would have been there to gain anyway? It wasn't like there was a holy grail being protected at these dorky conventions anyway... Regardless, she did feel the need to least forewarn her tamer... Not that she felt any hostility in those eyes, but it was odd enough to warrant a small note. "Oy. I think you got a fan hun ~" Tea mumbled as she lightly pushed into Kuro's side, pointing at the shadowy corner from which the jet-black Salamon was hiding. It was only at her partner's need to grab her attention did Kuro seem to finally lose her interest in the displays, for a moment unsure as to what the Sleepmon was going about... though squinting her eyes, she was starting to faintly make out something.

So... it appeared that of all entities the Sleepmon had eventually noticed and located her. An amusing piece of irony, though Ikou refrained from laughing. Listening to Tea's tongue-in-cheek words, the dark kitten's spirit steadily calmed down. By now, it was clear that the duo in front of her was either fantastic at pretending or, which was far more likely, were simply intending to savor their day without any other people getting in their way.
This was probably why the girl was so nonchalant when it came to the conspicuity of her partner. They had no intention of causing a ruckus, but neither did they feel obliged to adhere to established terms of reference. Truth be told... this was easy to agree with to the BlackSalamon.
As she realized that the young woman was aware of her presence as well, she decided to sigh and calmly leap from the potted plant's ceramic edge. Finally in plain view, her golden eyes cautiously scanned the area, assuring that no visitors were snooping around. Thankfully they were unanimously occupied with their silly card games that strangely lacked motorcycles. From the TV series she had enjoyed until today, that seemed almost preposterous. The inhabitants of Tokyo truly were a bizarre yet charming bunch.
Nodding confidently, her gaze shifted to the pair as a soft yet genuine smile grace her muzzle. "Good evening, madames." She greeted them kindly with a little, respectful bow of her head. Feeling like she had fulfilled her duty, she wondered if her new acquaintances were even inclined to initiate a conversation with her in the first place. Whatever their choice Ikou was happy to oblige as long as she did not have to become the center of attention of this convention.
