The plans down at the convention center were going off without a hitch, neither Royals nor Heralds wanted anything to do with each other. Honestly, it was better that way, Kimura didn't want to walk into the room and think of the possibility that there was some lying little bitch walking around. The sight of her face alone seemed to make him irritated, if not the sound of her voice sealing the deal. Not worth the trouble of acting nice to every other member in their faction, there was something deliberately wrong with their current 'cardinal'. Instead of focusing on the immense hatred he had for this one person in Tokyo, the man was rolling out with an old squad from high school. Buncha' fucking hip-hop head nerds that he used to play other card games with at lunch time, back in the day when he was exploring all the possible hobbies he could dip his disposable income in.
You could tell he had a good nights sleep from the way he was bouncing around from booth to booth, his boys were blasting some of that filthy american rap on their speakers. Even moreso expounded by the sound of their voice were the lyrics, talking about the type of women they like and the activities they were into. It was always an infectious experience with Kimura losing himself in it as he hopped from one foot to the other swaying his shoulders and rocking his hips, "I GOT HOOOOOES!!" The king of the Royals was having a fun time in a way only they knew how, being absolutely obnoxious and out of control. At least when it came to him, he only bounced into people he knew rather than complete strangers, even if others would look around in horror.
Dirty looks never stopped him before, definitely didn't stop him from taking out his phone and opening up one of his many social media apps. Using the front-facing camera, the young man began to take a video of his steps, still singing along, "WHERE'S ALLLIIII WITH THE MOTHAFUKKEN' DOPE?!" As his former classmates mimicked the background vocals, you could see him really getting into the feeling of his own energy. Headbanging to the song as the video continued, dropping his shoulders to use more of his back as he bopped around. You can tell he wasn't really here for the cards, they were secondary to him. Kimura's deck hadn't changed since he last used it, but that didn't mean he couldn't find something new to like here. Game was gonna change soon & he needed to hit up them experts.
Some of his faction members were also around in the convention center, giving him that shout-out as he passed by. These small interactions gave his team time to evaluate the surrounding as he continued to dance over to different people, hitting them up with a dap. The superior digidestined always managed to slide his hand down to theirs in a way that created such an audible 'pop' sound, only enhanced by the acoustics of the building. As it continued, a few of them would have Kimura hold onto their hand and pull them in, nearly shoulder checking them with the body-bump. Someone would probably get thrown out for this type of behavior, but we all know that this isn't just someone.
At some point, his squad set up shop & were just camping out while checking out new card and box sets. Some were even looking at figurines, but ultimately just left him alone with vibe with himself and one other person. Didn't stop him from still being obnoxious, passing around a vape pen with the homeboy and taking a few drags. There were probably no smoking signs, but that wouldn't have stopped them regardless. Kimura was always the type of person to argue that a no smoking sign isn't a no vaping sign, but nobody wanted to bother him today. He was in a good mood, which was slowly becoming less and less common as day to day life continued.

It was a pretty nice day today, if only because the Heralds and the Royals didn't seem poised to cross paths that often at the convention center, if at all. In fact, the cardinal was certainly pretty glad that she didn't need to cross paths with...The Maddened Royal himself. Sure, he was pretty famous and saved people, as far as she was aware.
Buuut when you're the face of a conglomerate of likeminded individuals seeking to study the Virus for the sake of evolution, of course heads are going to be butted. Also, she thought he was kind of a dick.
In either case, Aya had been accompanied by a few heralds that shared the same interests as her--namely cards. It was meant as a team-building exercise. Buying cards and helping people out with their decks. Nobody actually anticipated a POSSE OF ROYALS to make their way into the center and start drumming a ruckus up.
Of course, the immediate response the collective had was simple. "If you ignore them, they'll likely get bored and piss off." Aya grumbled. Back to cards. The...particular 'smell' that a convention center had was getting more unbearable by the moment. The priests that were accompanying her were looking rather worried.
All things that were slowly beginning to wear at the patience of the Cardinal. "What's next, they're gonna start rapping?"

Another hit off the pen and he was really feeling it now, that buzzing sensation. Really started to feel like he was walking on air and it made the whole experience that much more bearable for him. Not like he was anxious or anything, just really fucking bored at the time. Maybe he should actually invest himself in what's going on around him; Play a few games, trade a few cards. Nothing wrong with that, kind of what everyone else was doing here. For some reason, it just didn't interest him as much as it should, was he out of touch? There was a loss of feeling, one where he felt challenged by others.
Didn't matter if it were fights, games, business deals-- No one was challenging his legacy anymore. At least, not openly, there were most likely some who spoke of him in ill tones in closed spaces. Not something he really gave much thought to in today's landscape, which lead to another question. If no one is bothering him, what progress is he truly making out here? Had the Royals been stagnant in the goal he envisi-- "FUCK! SHIT! BITCH!" And now with the verse popping off, Kimura's entire mindset shifted.
The usually contained chaos was starting to spill out as the original savior began to get lost in the music. "YEAH, IT'S SHECK WES & I'M GETTING REALLY RICH!" Shouting along to the beat wasn't unusual for this man, there were enough videos on this type of behavior exhibited by him. Busting around on his legs, rolling them forearms as he jostled his shoulders, really into his own hype. That's when he busted out that phone again, shuffling down the line as the man started to record himself again among the crowd of convention goers. This time, it'd be a little less apprehensible than the first based on his movements and choices.
This mans bumped right into a whole foray of Heralds, along with their known face of the organization. You'd think Kimura would take a second and back off since he wanted to display a vibe of non-aggression, but he was too deep into it. Quite literally bounced straight through them until a certain line in the verse was spitting, rapping along with it as he grasped one of their members by the shoulders. "WITH A! BAD BITCH! NIGGAS STRAIGHT ROCKI-" As his shout-rapping continued, he looked over to see just who he had in his grip, clear look of confusion and disgust mixed his face. Pink hair, glasses, obviously a nerdy bitch he didn't like at all.
Yeah, he was basically on top of Aya despite the hatred, having not noticed until he looked over to her. Thankfully, Kimura is a master of improvisation and made a double take from her to the camera back to her. The look of disgust never left his face, just the lyrics that were coming out of his mouth. The recording would end there, leaving out that their apparent King would just shove this lady right the fuck away from him. Let's just get one thing straight; It is ON SIGHT with her. Kimura does not need help to throw hands, even if he's really not supposed to. What would it say if two of the leaders of the largest organizations in Tokyo got into it when they literally told everyone else not to get into it.
He wasn't about to mean mug her, the shove was probably enough to understand that this was basically amazon prime. If you wanted it, he'd deliver it, but he ain't coming to you if you ain't ask. Although, at this point he may have stepped right through the threshold and needed to hand off something without looking suspicious.

So, what was that about the Royals just possibly going away if they were ignored for a long enough period of time? That's what the gathered Heralds were muttering about. They seemed just as exasperated already as Aya was.
To make matters worse?
Kimura Kyoryoku himself, the single most obnoxious thing to ever hit a convention center, just goddamn BUMPED into the posse. Wasn't this meant to be nonaggressive in nature? It was pretty plain to see that even as Kimura grabbed Aya and spat out a verse that one could perceive as straight fire, the girl looked IRRITATED. The shove was mutual. Aya tried to just push him away even before the recording ended, and irritation gave way to a look that was quite uncommon to see on the face of the Heralds'...well, face.
Anger. Loathing. "...The hell are you doing? I was under the impression that we're supposed to keep away from each other, Kyoryoku." Flat. About as flat as the broad side of a barn.

Did she really think those noodle arms could push away the might that is Kimura Kyoryoku? Girl, you already got enough of a noodle problem with your fake ass spirit digimon. The man furrowed his brow as she started to express her dissatisfaction in his movements and behavior. Yeah, because he really planned on the person he bumped in to to be lil' miss bitch over here. Here's where the gears in his head start turning; Her upset expression and tone of voice was obvious. Let's blow it wide open, let's make her look bad. "I'm sorry, but who do you think you're talking to?"
Such an obvious question, but it speaks to the nature of the king's ego, believing himself to be far above Aya in all circumstances. You're comparing a first generation hero to a second generation manipulator. Isn't that the message of religion at its core, to manipulate man and take their soul from them to create a vision that is yet unattainable? To manifest a destiny that was not meant for you, but for those whose actions and thoughts were aligned with its true path? If they want to praise god so bad, they should be on their knees at this moment; Kimura is nothing short of a divine being, the reason that people can still enjoy the privilege of digital partnership.
"Yee, an' I'm under the impression that I don't give a fuck." Sweet and to the point, Kimura is about to be on his game. Completely disregard what she says and add to the pressure of his sheer existence in her presence. You could already see the followers she brought getting a bit unnerved by their meeting, seeing as both factions actually avoided each other most of the convention. Now they're leaders are face to face and there's this feeling of rising tension? Capitalize. "Look, sweetie, how about you get the holy rod out your ass and enjoy yourself? I'm jus' here, having fun, bumping my music, giving back that vibe and that energy, y'know?"
A smirk began to envelop Kimura's face, there was nothing subtle about the humor he found in his own statement, "Aw, Naw, you don't." He could talk for a while, but until she reacts, all the talk in the world meant nothing. That's why he started to shuffle forward again, not like anyone was about to stop him. No one in either posse made it hard for him to approach her again, the Heralds weren't about to touch him and find out exactly what he's about. They didn't know exactly what his feelings towards Sasaki was, but they've heard the stories of what happens when you get in his way. Every year, he was closer and closer to what he wanted, no matter who was trying to keep him down.
Now, here they are, just bare inches away from each other. Kimura towered over her with no problem, being above the average height for a man in their country. It's cute to think such a short girl could intimidate him. "Now what?" Let's see if she tries to shove him again.

On the subject of noodles--Noodle emerged from Aya's sleeve soon after the shove. Something was going on, surely. "Ah, hello." The serpent calmly stated as his head briefly emerged, before he quickly stuffed himself back in. "Good to see you're well, try not to get into a fistfight." The serpent could be heard uttering.
Was that actually what he wanted or was he feebly trying to diffuse a situation? The face of the Heralds--while not the originator of the vision they followed, did in fact actually think she could stand up to the hero of the first generation with that vision. A vision she thought was attainable with the help of the digital lifeforms around them. "A mule, that's who." Aya snapped. Yes, that was in fact fancy-talk for 'an ass.' At least, so she thought it was.
"One of us has to give a damn about the nonaggression rule." The girl stood resolute, maintaining the same expression on her face as before. Irritation. Even with Kimura lumbering over her. Noodle again showed himself. "...Now that's just not very kosher, is it?" The serpent spoke. "I'm certain we can all enjoy the strange card game in peace, can we not? Hey, where's your friend? I'd like to catch up with him soon."
Y'know, that could vaguely be interpreted as a threat...But was Noodle really the type to do that? That question was left hanging in the air as the serpent retreated once more. Aya sighed. "Mind laying off? I came here to enjoy myself, yes. However, that's pretty much impossible with this shit." ...Yep, she just did that.

Honestly, that was pretty confusing-- to whom was he talking to? You out here telling me this short headass bitch gonna start a fist fight with him? What really stops him from slam dunking her into a garbage can outside of some very thin civility? Y'know what, maybe that's exactly what he should do. Let me get my phon-- Did this girl say something back finally? It was a little hard to hear her when she wasn't using that fake 'preacher' voice. Having redirected his attention from the digimon to its tamer, just catching the tail end of that sentence. "I'm sorry, I can't hear you from up here! Speak up!"
Things were going exactly how he wanted & now he was gonna clown on her. "Y'need someone to find you a step ladder or something, shorty? Even whatever merciful creator that made you knew you weren't important enough to be the same height as everyone else," Just keep digging and twisting. Now, Kimura had nothing against short people, but creating insecurity in the opponent always caused a misstep. War through deception, changing the topic from his abrasive behavior to her own meek posture. No matter how much she wanted to talk about aggression, he wasn't responding to the notion of his actions as such.
Kimura was just being Kimura, after all. If you found it aggressive, it's a problem with your definition of the word. To his knowledge, these types of things are how people show they're friends with one another, so maybe she should be a little honored. Not that he'd ever consider her such, it wasn't worth his time to get to know her past what he already knew. Once again her partner interrupted her and began to talk about just what is and isn't kosher, with some insistence on seeing the leader with his digimon. "You'll see him soon enough, don't worry," Now that's how you make a vague threat, no explanation for why their paths will cross.
It's not like her noodle-based digital lifeform had meant any offense, or at least it didn't come across like it had. Hard to take serious considering that it's phantasm-like body gave it no definite weight. Chalk it up to an old view on the importance of physical strength in a confrontation; Something gone from the modern times. Even now, they were just at words, no one had made the first move to truly hurt the other. Yet here she was, asking to end the confrontation before it even began. Pitiful. Truly weak.
"Sounds like you don't even know what it means to enjoy yourself. It's okay, no one else is gonna touch you here-- except maybe the filthy otaku's and smelly NEETs. Consider yourself lucky anyone nearly as good looking as me is in your presence today. Sure makes those booth girls happy that they have someone attractive to pose with for once," Did you think he wasn't going to gloat about his own features today? Maybe this was enough, he'd made his own worth already known, flexing on this poor girl. She should go about and enjoy the rest of her dismal day, if she even could with Kimura just being around her.
At first, the man turned heel and took a step away before a thought came into his mind, causing him to turn right back to her. The smirk on his face from earlier had ejected itself, replaced with a stern tenseness. The corners of his mouth remained perfectly straight with his lips, eyes cast down on her as though she awaited judgement for her wrongdoings. In the matter of a couple of seconds, the king lowered his shoulders to get to eye level with her, just a blatant stare-down between the two. In a moment, words were whispered, "Ruin my fun again & see just how red of a mark I can leave on your neck."
You really want to play david to my goliath? Kimura will definitely make sure it does not end up pretty, further disgusting when you see it going viral through his multiple social media channels. He'd resume his original stature and turn right back around, the grin on his face returning without problem. "Unless that's what you're into-- filthy whore." Outside of needing to have the last word, he also needed to have the worst threat. Did you think he wasn't capable of some terribly immoral choices or something? It's been a cutthroat world for the passed couple of years; A lifestyle Kimura embodied entirely through his constant machinations that vied for power.

There was a brief period of silence from the end of the Heralds. All of them. Did that just happen? This was...well, if there was any proof needed that Kimura had the ego of a skyscraper and the capability to just...be a dick?
It was out there for every Herald and for Aya to see. "...You..." Fists were balled. Knuckles whitened. Aya was, to put this simply...not happy. Far from happy. Then again, would you be happy if someone just up and called you a whore for wanting both factions to mind their own business? You'd expect Aya to throw a punch.
Unfortunately, she was no instigator. She simply turned on a heel and began to walk away. "We're leaving." She simply announced. "Come, my flock."
Taking him seriously? That's what he wanted, clearly. What you do here is you don't allow that. And though Aya's anger was at an all-time high...It did seem like her mood shifted like a dime. All she was doing was following what Noodle taught her.
And if uninterrupted? The Heralds just decided to follow along. And leave the Royals to themselves.

Not quite the affect he wanted to have on her, but it was workable nonetheless. It would've been so nice to see her follow up on her original sentiment; She'd probably throw a meek punch if she did. Just any form of physical provocation on her part and he'd be given full reign to blow this wide open. All she did was showcase her anger and then decide that it wasn't in her to act on it. How sad. What did this show of the leader of the Heralds? Maybe it was best to paint his own picture and see who is willing to agree with him.
The smartphone wasn't too far away, already grasping it in his hands as they started to walk away. Thankfully, Kimura had already been recording using the front facing camera, so no time was wasted. He just went right to recording himself with the footsteps of her posse in the background. "And here we see a group of Heralds, leaving with their proverbial 'tentacle' between their legs. You all truly believe these people to be of the right opinion on the matters that occurred? There is evidence of what happened that day, evidence that has been building up to the same conclusion as today. You do not fuck with Kimura Kyoryoku. That's why these pathetic ingrates are leaving my presence."
At this point, a decent band of his faction members were starting to gather around him, as expected. They all wanted to be a part of the first of those who get to hear the King's speech. Even if they opposing gang wasn't in the shot any more, he would continue and create a narrative that would be hard to dispute. "For those of you wondering, I just ran into one of the worst tamers in all of Tokyo. Yes, that's right, Sasaki Aya. Current leader of that group of fetishists that idolize the catastrophe that struck so many years ago. Like we've been saying, we don't care much for their existence in our domain. They're still learning the simple message I've been spreading since the inception of our glorious group, The Royals. Repeat after me: Do. Not. Fuck. With. Kimura. Kyoryoku."
It wasn't hard to get people already aligned with him to say it, even a few other feeling pressured to join in. Ahh, the joys of getting a few stragglers to say your praises despite what their opinions may seem. As the camera soon pointed to them, you could hear them shouting the words told to them in near unison. Music to the Royal King's ears, nothing was better than having people cooperate with you. Maybe one day, she would learn exactly how great it is to cooperate with Kimura's vision and goal. Far better than wasting her time pray to a damn monstrosity.
