Should I take a Leap?
Should I take a Leap?
Hot. Burning. Intense.
That was one way to describe the feeling in his legs. The tingling might as well have been the lick of flame that touched his hind. His legs felt the intense pins and needles feeling that gave the sensation of of his legs about to give out. His hands felt the cold brick that slid between his fingers. Sweat had gave the sensation that his hands may freeze over. It was to be expected in a cramped alley cast in nothing but shadows that the moon’s eye had missed as it peered down that night.
It missed everything in the shadows.
“K-Kid are you crazy?!”
His blue eyes lifted to see the distant figure across the alley. The furry creature struggle to recover and stand not far from the six-inch geta the boy wore. His hair was a curtain of feathery texture drenched in sweat, pulling his head down with fatigue. Still, he could see the face of the boy who insisted on starting this fight. It was one twisted in terror! Big beautiful brown eyes that looked as if it was seeing a predator! The rabbit shown a smile in kind to the face of the teen.
“You don’t fight fair J-Just like the say! You and that pet!” Usagi could see the balance of the boy staggering. His foot pulling back as if to ready a retreat. The creature at his own foot was starting to push itself on its stubby fours. “E-Elecmon! Get o-”
A command? The violet-haired boy knew it well. His jewel eyes slid to the furry creature with a predatory gaze of a snake. His hands would reach down, grasping at the collarbone of the little creature. He spun quickly on his feel, adding momentum to give the little creature a slam that gave it a reeling headache, and a moment to think twice about listening to the commands of a complete idiot. “This won’t hurt, sweety!” The boy said in a kindly and affectionate tone. The sleeve of his slender red kimono had moved as if the flowery pink petals and green vines were coming to life. Narrowly, a small space opened upon his skinny arm as a petite little pop shown itself. Scuffs and marks on its little beat up body as it endured a punishment.
“Much.”
She uttered sweetly before inhaling a big breath into her small lungs. The next moment, the sleeve of the kimono where she sat exploded with waves of sound that pounded the bricks and reverberated around the body of the Elecmon in the boy’s grip. The rabbit boy’s eyes would become slits as he winced from the intense shock wave that was delivered to the Elecmon at point blank range causing it to reach to its ears with its stubby little appendages..in vein.
Like a hand touching trash, the rabbit would drop the beast. His other hand going to his hairband as his ears were adjusted upon his head. Cold blue eyes would go to the unconscious creature to the boy who stood in worry. His fist would bawl up and he would make a single step. “No-no-no, darling!” The sing-song tone of the violet haired child stopping him. Frozen, the boy would stare shaking and shivering. “We warned you...did we not? This is OUR territory! You...nameless?”
He had placed his index on his chin. That was their name, right? Sounded perfect!
“Yes...you nameless!” His index swept through the air as if lecturing a child. “You were warned about coming to this building, spouting nonsense about landmarks and history, and not to mention-” He had to think about it….really....think about it. What was it that bothered him so much about them? “Ah! That is right! Existing!” The boy wagged his finger, now as if the boy was a disappointment. Their sin was beyond shame!
“Look at you!” The rabbit would thrust out his finger before turning it to his own chest. “Now look at me! You have no flare! No elegance! You come venting towards me about your pathetic life and talk about fair? The world is not “fair”...but it is just!” The rabbit would sweep his hand around with his sleeve that weighed. The sassy pup would peep from the collar of his kimono. The expression on her face shown the utmost joy; showing she adored the scene that was unfolding. One last glimpse was taken as the rabbit-boy spun around on his heel and begun to walk from the alleyway.
“Grab your pet and leave!” his last words tossed into the wind to the ragged child.
His steps had the usual sway and swagger. His body, however, ached. The skirmish had taken a lot out of him honestly, and he was lacking in strength. It was only pride that would ensure him to exit the maw of the alley and quickly reach his hand to the nearest wall as he leaned unto it. His body familiar with the crease between the bricks. His chest burned as he would take would big breath to pace himself.
“Doling out law like a King should?” The pup would pant. “I would be proud if...not so sloppy.”
Koneko had a way of getting under the boy’s skin when it came to her airing disappointment. Usagi, however, knew her well enough to know it was as close to honest criticism he would get. The night ha been long and he had walked the streets promoting his usual sing-along-songs of terror. Trespassers to the rabbit’s burrow, the nightlife of Shibuya, was as close to his heart as it was his very own Flower Shop...for business purposes that is.
“It will be worth is soon.” The rabbit proclaimed. “Very soon.” He staggered a few more steps before placing his back to the wall of the ransacked building he leaned against. He stroked it affectionately as he breathed easily.
