Post by Noriko Ishida on Dec 18, 2018 21:38:58 GMT
Noriko Ishida flinched at the smattering of camera flashes pulsing before her eyes. The past several weeks had been increasingly filled with press conferences, meetings, and publicity stunts, which was as such today's agenda. The teen stood in her stiffly pressed dress, trying to find it in herself to give at least a half-genuine smile, but when she was being used as fodder to gain support for her father's campaign , especially with ever-growing tensions between factions, she could only feel her shoulders drooping under the weight, a deep pressure in her chest, icy dread in her veins.
The demanding questions of the press finally died down, all pertaining to her new found experience as a chosen tamer, allowing her to finally breathe. Ever since her digivice and Nyx's egg had found their way into her hands, her father, love him as she may, had been plotting on how he could build relations with other countries with ever-growing number of human-Digimon duos. Her father turned away momentarily, conferring with his publicist and a few other importation government officials in tight-gripping suits. Nora's eyes darted quickly, finding her bag off to the side.
Being slight as she is, Nora easily slipped through the crowd, snatching her bag and headed down the street. She could afford a few minutes away, but there was also the chance that she get caught and pulled back immediately.
Two yellow slitted eyes blinked at her from a slit in her bag, a flash of tiny teeth as the small Nyaromon smiled up at her human partner. "Are you finally done, Nori? Can we eat now?"
Nora laughed softly, pulling the small in-training into her arms. Anyone passing by would hopefully just think it was a stuffed toy. "Not yet, I'm just taking a walk to clear my head." She kept walking, enjoying the momentary reprieve of silence, passing a few mom and pop shops, a small convenience/grocery store, until she reached a green splash of park resting against the rest of the gray sky-scrapers and towers. While the city was still bustling, she had stepped away from the major hub where they had filmed the press shoot.
"We told you not to come here anymore. You know it's only for the cool kids," a sneering voice caught Nora's attention. The teen's blue-gray gaze snapped up, narrowing slightly as she saw a gaggle of boys, probably four or five years younger than her, surrounding another boy. One of the taller one, possibly the leader, shoved him, sending him faltering backwards, skinny arms wheeling. Both tamer and Digimon stared, frozen on the spot at the spectacle they were witnessing.
However before she knew it, Nora was moving forward. "Hey, I don't see a sign saying that only cool kids can hang out. And last time I checked cool kids don't bully others." The words coming out of her mouth sounded like her own voice, but she was astounded at the sudden rush of courage, even as her cheeks flushed pink once she was done speaking. ♡

can't fix this, i'm hopeless. my sanity is spent, just tell me where my time went ▼ | There were plenty of reasons Yūjin Inazuma could think of that would explain why he preferred to avoid wandering around Nishi-Shinjuku, regardless of what time it was.
For starters, the presence of all those skyscrapers made the district plenty claustrophobic, rising into the heavens like cold industrial sentinels of steel and glass. Most of Tokyo's denizens saw them as nothing more than part of the scenery, perhaps even took refuge behind these concrete structures; Yūjin merely felt trapped like a rat in a maze.
As a functioning adult, Yūjin disliked Nishi-Shinjuku for much more personal reasons. It was a breeding ground for corruption and heartlessness; what was meant to be the city's municipal keystone had virtually been purchased or strong-armed into silence by the organization known as HYPNOS, and with each passing day this clandestine collective of special operatives and secret agents continues to impose their agenda onto an unsuspecting population from behind the scenes.
But only the common folk, people like Yūjin himself, could actually witness just how poisonous this kind of influence was. It kindled a dark and twisted hostility against one's fellows and neighbors, the kind which only came from being indoctrinated with the belief that someone or something, anything, anyone, wasn't allowed to exist without somebody else's permission.
Such nasty feelings appeared to be what was currently pouring forth right now as Yūjin remorsefully looks on at a cluster of young men terrorizing a smaller, scrawnier boy. Surprisingly, a young woman wearing pressed formal clothes stepped forward to challenge the vagabonds, only to attract their combined attentions. Brave, if somewhat narrow-sighted.
That was his cue to step forward and do his thing.
"You guys really don't look like Royals material. If you have to pick on little kids or women, I doubt you're as cool as you think you are." Yūjin's 'introduction' is monotonously condescending, and was meant to throw the miscreants' attention off center altogether. And while it may not have appeared so in the present moment, his own Digimon partner Abel was lying in wait, ready for a chance to leap out and get the jump on their newly chosen targets for the day.

Nora startled at the sound of another voice sounding from behind. For a moment she worried that another member of this scrappy group had come around to make a full circle. While she was definitely sheltered, the young female tamer was not so naive to forget about the rough crowds of the city, but she was obviously naive enough to step forward and think she could take on this gaggle of boys.
Nora whipped around, her eyes widening at the tall man that had made himself known. He was definitely older than her and, to her perception, held himself in an intimidating manner, but that's when it clicked he was backing her up, at least it seemed.
"Royals?" she mused, but of course she was aware of the ever-growing tensions and turf wars in Tokyo between factions known as Royals, Heralds, and a couple of lesser known ones. She herself was meant to eventually join a government faction but was much too young. Like everything else in her life planned out for her, Nora was meant to continue schooling and training herself and her partner to become pawns to Hypnos. The Royals tended to be a bunch of upper echleon snobs, or at least ones trying to ride the coat-tails of the wealthier society.
The young tamer kept her eyes on the newcomer for a moment, searching for any sign of what faction he might be with, or if he might have been a part of her father's group that happened to follow her when she walked off, but nothing was a give away. Nora turned back to the other boys, who stood with a mixture of awe, surprise or just angry looks towards the pair. The younger boy, the subject of the terror also stood with a look of amazement, mixed with something else she couldn't quite decipher.
Nora's gaze zeroed in on the younger boy. "Why don't you come with me and I can walk you home? I'm sure there's a park that is more accepting and doesn't have a bunch of guys that feel they have prove themselves by bullying others." She glanced uncertainly over her should at the man. Nora really didn't want to get into a fight, having mixed feelings of stepping up, but she just couldn't stand the sight of these juveniles pushing the other one around. She'd had enough of people pushing others around, just because they felt like they were better than them or someone didn't match their ideals how the world should run.
The boy nodded slowly, cautiously trying to make his way towards Nora until one of the burlier boys, maybe the leader, thrust out a hand, sneering and asking "Where do you think you're going? We're not done here." ♡

can't fix this, i'm hopeless. my sanity is spent, just tell me where my time went ▼ NOTES: Noriko Ishida Activated Chivalrous Shield of Resolution! Ker-smack! | Yūjin maintained his cool, unbending posture as the gaggle of bullies took a brief minute to compose one another before one of the bigger, bulkier youths stepped forward brazenly, "Just who the fuck do you think you are?" he bellows to the newcomer, who merely snorts in flippant defiance.
"Ooooh~ Look'ah that shit, fellas! Somebody's orderin' up a fresh hot plate'ah whoop-ass today!" Another one jeers, letting his attentions roam from their earlier target to the one who had lightning bolts in his hair, both clearly pointing right where he needed to get punched.
Yūjin remains deadly silent; while these idiots were busy laughing it up and attempting to hoot and holler, he was meticulously concocting the perfect strategy to take them all down several pegs at the same time.
It is only when the young woman in formal business attire calls out to the victim of these callous thugs that one of them, unfazed by the presence of two random interloping twits, tried to pull him in for a thrashing far more severe than he may have planned to deliver, at first, but it's as they say: plans change.
And, would you believe it, he was right, except he also wasn't, because that was the precise moment the rambunctious urchin felt his entire body get swept off its feet and hurled several paces away from the group of toughs as if a ghost had physically thrown him like a baseball. Within seconds, their attitudes became a mixture of panic and rage, and two of the bulkier fellows instantly came barreling for Yūjin like Spanish fighting bulls.
The Tamer simply rolls his eyes. "They always have to go out swinging..." Yūjin mutters to himself as his left hand swings around his backside and, from beneath his denim jacket, he snaps it out and forward as soon as the first bully enters within reaching distance.
Rather comically, the chubby boy yelps like a stuck hog as a current of electricity runs through his flesh, but when the second challenger approached, Yūjin took advantage of his recklessness and, lowering his body forward decisively, he lifts back up to completely turn the attacker's own gravity against him in a magnificent flipping maneuver, sending the fellow thumping against the dirt like a floppy ragdoll with a pathetic wheeze before thrusting a foot into Big Boy's stomach, putting him to the ground as well.
When a break in the chaos reveals itself, Yūjin adjusts his posture and turns his left hand slightly, unconsciously demonstrating to the well-intentioned young woman nearby that his fingers were actually curled around an object; then he lifts his right hand to his mouth, forms a finger and thumb into a circle, then lets loose a sharp whistle.
Another invisible force sends a third street punk barreling off-balance. "What the fuck's happening here!? He's just one guy!" "Somethin's in the bushes!!" One by one, the group of delinquents, once haughty and arrogant in their assertion of dominance, found themselves rapidly being reduced to shambles of its former self as they were assaulted by some invisible protector at the spiky-haired man's disposal. Three skinnier fellows, consumed by rage, redouble their efforts and come back to charge headfirst toward the man who stoically came in and ruined their fun.
"Really?" Yūjin sighs out despondently, an admission of his own reluctance, then retrieves a single card, one whose printed design could instantly be recognized by anyone that has ever paid attention to the popular entertainment scene these past several years. He shakes his head, lifts the mysterious object in his left hand up, then takes the card he just produced and pulls it from left to right in one sharp motion.
With a flash of light and the sound of pixels clumping together to form mass and substance, an enormous shield as tall as Yūjin himself materialized out of thin air before the man, greeting the incoming bullies with an emblazoned image of what appeared to be a stylized ray of sunlight before—
K-K-THUNK.
Rather gruesomely, all three would-be attackers were too blind to realize the costliness of their error and came smacking, face or headfirst, into the shield's enormous face before crumpling instantly to the ground, out cold or whining from their newly-acquired broken noses.
There were a couple more punks trying to make sense of all that had occurred in such a short amount of time, but the most aggressive or threatening ones had been all but completely dispatched or incapacitated, just long enough for the helpless young man to scramble to his feet and running toward the woman that offered to return him home, a goal that Yūjin had every intention of using this very shield to see through.

As Noriko's eyes stayed glued on the young boy who was attempting to make his way towards her, pleading for his safety and for him to get closer to her, until her attention was snapped to the wider picture of the other boys charging, hot red rage flashing in their eyes.
A rasping, hissing sounded from the tiny ball in her arms, her small body tightening and poised to run until she locked eyes again with the young boy, cowering until he saw the opening presented to him as the bullies flung themselves at the older boy.
All too suddenly, almost too quickly for her eyes-to-mind to process, they were rushing forward then flung backwards. She flinched even though she was in no real danger and they were choosing to square up with the spiky-haired boy behind her, flowing around her like water around a rock.
Nora watched in amazement as his lithe body curled and snapped, sending the harassing youths flailing backwards, dropping like flies. Nyx stiffened, her tiny body shivering as she could have sworn she could smell the hint of another Digimon, but Nora's human eyes couldn't see or sense it's presence, but Nyx's sharper vision caught the sight of the tip of a pale wing.
Just as two or three would fall ungraciously to the concrete, more pounded forward, oblivious to the stupidity of making the same mistake, even though they still ended flat on their back, stomach, side, groaning in pain.
Nora caught sight of the device as the young man held it up, automatically understanding the situation more clearly. "He's a tamer," she whispered at the same time Nyx mused "I smelll Digimon."
The massive shield formed, shining brightly under the sun. A manic giggle bubbled up in Nora's chest as the boys smacked straight into the digitized formation.
"Y-you'a thinking you're so tough, huh?" grit out one of the punks, but a mad look gleamed in his eye as he brandished his own Digivice. Nora dipped into her pocket, pulling out a purple and gray model. Even as her blood thrummed in her veins, she knew it was now or never.
Glancing back at the poor boy now settled in next to her, hating to leave him, but it would probably take two. "Just stay close," she ordered him in a tight voice before standing up, her partner, a shadowed version of the traidional purple-and-green striped Nyaromon bounding out of her arms. "Let's do this partner!"
The other boy sneered as his partner made itself known, flipping out of the air and brandishing a wooden sword. "A Kotemon?" Nora tilted her head, amused by the contrast between the little samurai-like rookie and his city-fied ruffian of a tamer.
The Kotemon let out a high-pitched yell before launching forward, swinging his shinai wildly. Nora clutched her Digivice, the little device digging in deeply. "Okay Digivolve!" she cried, thrusting it forward as if it were a weapon itself.
A bright shell of light shrouded her partner before breaking off into glimmering, splintering shards revealing a BlackGatomon. "Shadow Slash!" Nyx cried, reaching up to meet the other rookie's attack with her rakish claws now wreathed in darkness. ♡

can't fix this, i'm hopeless. my sanity is spent, just tell me where my time went ▼ | Amidst the ensuing chaos of combat, Yūjin could only contemplate about the practicality of deploying the Chivalrous Shield of Hope in this particular moment; while its name might have been fitting in the set of circumstances, its weight and frame made it next to impossible for him to move anywhere while the card stayed online.
The moment Yūjin shifted his posture to have the great Shield sitting over his back so that he could retrieve more cards to swipe, he caught a glimpse of the young lady summoning forth a surprise of her own: a black feline Digimon, its tail lacking the distinctive Holy Ring her species was known to wear, came pouncing into the scene and raked ferociously at the miscreant's Kotemon flunkie to great effect.
The young man smirked as his fingers toyed with the next trick resting up his metaphorical sleeve. Despite what his impromptu accomplice-in-combat might have seen, Yūjin was not much of a fighter in the traditional sense; a vast majority of the devastation that just transpired had been the product of self-restraint, born from a willingness to resolve the issue peacefully rather than to charge in swinging — unlike what these clowns just tried to do moments earlier.
Another fellow attempts to bring out the fourth Digivice to be present here, but a bright orange mass comes crashing into the back of the tough's skull like a sack of flying oranges, sending him to the dirt and throwing the gadget out of his hand. Not even seconds later, the wing-eared monster comes swooping in to claim the device with a chipper cry, "Yoink! Five points for me!"
The Tamer shouts out to the Patamon from behind the bulk of his defensive implement, "Get the other one, too! Keep 'em distracted!" Yūjin then takes a glimpse at the young woman standing paces away from his position, nervously giving her an expectant look before speaking out, rather sincerely and with a remarkably calm affect, "I might need a little help holding this up. Want to lend me a hand while I scare these creeps off for good?" He smiles. "I promise, it's really not that heavy."
Not the most graceful way to grab a woman's attention, but there were objectively worse things that could be happening to the both of them. At the very least, it would be an opportunity to get to try out a card that Yūjin had been dying to use for the longest time. Today might be that day.

Just as Nyx had sensed, a orange-winged monster swooped down, whisking away the fourth tamer's Digivice. The cat smirked, finding the current predicament rather amusing. She had been itching for some sort of combat since coming to this world. She flipped backwards graciously before dancing back around the Kotemon and unleashed another flurry of claw swipes at him.
Nora couldn't help but give a shy smile at the Patamon whipping through the air. So this was the guy's partner. They seemed to work well together. That's when the male's voice caught her attention, momentarily tearing her gaze away from the ongoing scuffle.
Nora's eyes darted to the massive shield he was holding up. Strange that it was made up of data, just like their partners, yet seemed so real. She gave me a quick nod before darting over, the victimized boy in tow, moving closer and attempting to shoulder some of the shield against her lithe frame. The young female tamer braced the shield against her back, a whoosh of air escaping as it was indeed pretty heavy, but she was a pretty tiny human.
Nora gave the man a reassuring nod, waiting for his next move. He seemed to have been calculating his next move and the shield was somewhat of a hindrance. "Go for it," she gave a meek, yet supportive grin. ♡

can't fix this, i'm hopeless. my sanity is spent, just tell me where my time went ▼ | Yūjin can practically feel the appreciation swelling in his chest as the young woman graciously returns his request with her support, both literal and figurative, as she carefully positions herself just enough to offset the force generated by this facsimile of Knightmon's shield. He takes a quick breath of relief, happy to be momentarily relieved of his burden, then steps out with renewed boldness.
Abel makes his fifth pass over the startled and frightened Tamer of the Kotemon, who cannot keep his attentions glued to the BlackGatomon making shredded tuna out of him while the flying orange Rookie kept whizzing by, spitting bubbles of compressed air to keep him from using any cards himself.
As he veers around to attempt a sixth fly-by, he captures a glimpse of his Tamer Yūjin moving around the woman in formal attire and her charge, taking bold strides with firm posture and a mighty glare that could stop an angry Bullmon in its tracks. He had a card in his hand, too! What was he gonna use this?
Yūjin plants himself firmly, a trail of dust rolling behind scuffed boots. He thrusts both card and Digivice forward, arms crossed over one another, then swings them outward in a grand circular motion before they both made contact, completing this pastiche imitation of tokusatsu heroism by dragging the card through the electronic gadget's scanner with one pull.
"Digi-Modify!" Yūjin cries out with thunderous confidence as a wind rolls through the park before a flash of ominous black light spews from a tear in space itself, as if the Tamer had unleashed something no human should ever have the privilege of doing.
From this rip in reality, the roughs-that-got-roughed could observe with pure horror splattered across their faces a foul, black shape slowly moving closer towards them while the sound of a sputtering engine hissed forth like a serpent from Hell itself, inching further and further into the real world. All Yūjin does is smirk coolly as he walks forward with composure, reaches out with a gloved hand, then grips at what appears to be a handlebar.
Instantly, the evil black light vanishes as though a blast of wind cleared it away as the engine releases a terrifying roar, revealing the presence of a truly monstrous excuse for a motorcycle, something clearly not of this world and unfit for the hands of a human being.
The chubby boy that got zapped earlier openly wets himself scrambling to run away, while the second bully who got flipped on his back desperately rolled away as if he were a character in a fighting game trying to avoid getting struck while prone. The trio that ran face-first into Yūjin's shield merely gawked at the autistic fellow and his dangerous new ride, unsure of what exactly was going on and growing increasingly less concerned with the answer to such a question.
Abel cannot believe it himself, having never seen 'Behemoth' in action before, and feels it necessary to shout, "Here I thought the Shield was a bit much, but wow!" He wasn't exactly wrong, but a little style never hurt anybody, did it?
Yūjin takes a hard look at the disheveled group of ragamuffins as he mounts the bike properly, his form rested perfectly against its ergonomic seating arrangement, as he grasps the second handlebar with eager fingers. "I'll give you guys to the count of ten to stop all this and just walk away," he offers to the group of boys; it captures the concern of the young man Yūjin was currently attempting to rescue, since it conflicts with his own egoistic desires to see true, bloody justice be enacted upon them. "Seriously, though, I think Fatso over there peed himself..." Yūjin cocks an eyebrow up and lowers the other as he draws attention to the fleeing portly fellow.
"Fuck you, prick! You and that bitch, and your fuckin' pets! All of you are gonna pay for this!" Even as he tends to his sprains and bruises, the leader of the bully patrol remained defiant to their punishers.
Yūjin merely sighs. "Ten." He cranks the handle shaft down, and simply holds his wrist in place. The machine's demonic engine raises its volume from a threatening roar to a truly diabolical scream as pillars of fire jettison from the motorcycle's exhaust tubes by a full meter, the frame rumbling furiously beneath Yūjin's body like it was ready to explode at any moment. Higher and higher the engine's pitch grew until it came to sound closer to a military fighter jet rather than a motorcycle, yet another indicator of this machine's otherworldly properties. Fumes pour out from below the bike in thick sheets, even as the noise continues to reach ear-shattering levels.
And all Yūjin does is smile big when the churlish brute, unable to handle it anymore, merely screams and turns the other way with his hands clutching his ears as streaks of blood trickled between his fingers, a sign the Tamer might have caused some serious damage to his hearing. Even the other mischief-makers weren't able to remain incapacitated for very long due to the motorcycle's insane noise-production levels, and they, too, would hurry into a stagger, a limp, a sprint, whatever they could do to simply get away from the man that made right fools out of them.
Once they cleared off, Yūjin lets the crankshaft loose, and 'Behemoth' instantly quiets back down to a soft and docile purr. At this moment, his Chivalrous Shield of Hope would also expire, dissolving harmlessly into a sea of glimmering ones and zeroes before vanishing entirely.
"Yūjin! That was suuuper cool!" Abel suddenly pipes up from several meters away as he swoops in to land atop his Tamer's windshield with little black paws. "I had to cover my ears because it was so loud, but still, you really kicked their butts!" The Patamon conveniently ignores the paradox of covering his ears in mid-flight as Yūjin slouches forward reluctantly, putting a hand behind his spiky mane of hair. "It's a good thing those two helped out, also!"
Oh, that's right! Yūjin straightens himself out and dismounts 'Behemoth' in order to approach the young woman and her feline companion with an outstretched hand and a grateful grin, his partner hopping off the bike to ride piggyback. "That was pretty gutsy of you to stand up to those guys. I'm Yūjin," he introduces with an awkward but thankful intonation, as if his valorous aura never existed to begin with.

Noriko crouched down, bringing the shield over herself and the younger boy as the shield was growing ever-increasingly heavy, but she watched in awe as the other boy stepped forward, once again holding out his Digivice and some cards. Every so often she would see an orange blur that was his Patamon flickering in an out of her vision.
Nyx gave one more swipe at the Kotemon, thoroughly dispatching him, shadows flickering over his eyes as a sign of temporary blindness. The feline-like rookie bounded over to her partner, bravely putting herself in front of the female tamer and her rescuee.
Nora flashed a grateful smile at her partner before turning her attention with growing anticipation at what the other tamer was about to pull. He stepped up confidently and swiped the card through the magnetic edge of his device, calling out. To Nora, it appeared as if he had done this a hundred times and made her want to experiement even more with her own pack that had come with her digivice.
Sure enough, the effect of was just as great as the action. A rip in thin air appeared, flashing and rippling until a massive black and red bike rumbled out, the boy taking a seat confidently. He addressed the trouble-makers, giving them until the count of ten. Noriko flushed at the mention of the leader of the gang peeing himself, feeling slightly embarrassed for the poor boy despite his tortorous administrations earlier.
At the count of ten, Nora watched as he flicked his wrist expertly, causing the engine to rev, spewing fire and smoke, which bled into the small green space amongst the concrete jungle, spreading out like effervescent fog. Nora let out a weak cry at the sudden intensity of the revving, reaching out one arm to grab Nyx, the other to steady the shield. Nyx let out a low growl, her shape flickering back into a Nyaromon as the engine growls resounded against her sensitive ear drums.
Even though the effect only lasted a few seconds, it still felt longer. Nora was aware of the sudden weightlessness against her shoulders as the shield disintegrated. She blinked, opening her eyes to see the fleeing forms of the bullies. She let out a sigh, glancing down at Nyx who appeared to have recovered, before glimpsing back at their new found charge.
Footsteps caught the attention of the Japanese teen. She straightened up from her hunched down position, bringing her partner and the younger boy up with her. She flashed a shy, but friendly grin as the other boy approached, introducing himself as Yūjin. She bent down, giving a formal bow. "Noriko," she replied, but then added, "Or Nora for short. And it wasn't really gutsy." She blushed at the mention of her earlier act of bravery. "It was just something to be done. I don't know why those guys couldn't just let him play here. There aren't any rules about where you can spend recreational time."
Nora's dark gaze flickered over to the boy, also realizing she didn't know his name either, but he was looking at her with admiration, but also a look of wonder when his gaze landed on Yūjin.
Nora felt itchy in her skin, being the subject of attention all of a sudden. "But you were amazing as well. Your cards are unbelievable, and I wouldn't have thought of bringing them out. I just sent Nyx out, which is, oh, my partner," she stumbled slightly, but she held out the Nyaramon, who fixed him with a one-eyed (the other being sleepily shut) amber gaze before flashing the other tamer a mischievous grin.
"Thanks for helping out my partner. She can be real impulsive sometimes."
Noriko scoffed at the in-training before pulling on her tail affectionately. "Sure, talk about yourself why don't you?"

can't fix this, i'm hopeless. my sanity is spent, just tell me where my time went ▼ | Yūjin hesitates to move forward and complete his handshake as the young lady, addressing herself as Noriko (or 'Nora' for short), leaned forward in a formal bow; hastily moving on intuition, the young man returns the gesture, but feels rather embarrassed about having missed such a critical part of the greeting process.
"I don't get it, either..." He cannot articulate his emotions, yet fully empathizes with Noriko's solemn outlook on the issue. Ever since the factions started cropping up around Tokyo, Tamers left and right have started making life harder for one another, and all for what? Greed? Ambition? Survival? Boredom? These were questions that tormented Yūjin, drove him to extend a helping hand to the very people that were being pushed around, people such as the young lad these two had just rescued.
And, much like Noriko herself, Yūjin felt skittish whenever the subject of attention happened to be his own person, but he simply chuckles with a soft shrug upon learning of her inexperience with operating cards as actual combat implements, "You might not believe it, but Digivices never used to do this before. You could think of it as like a 'recently added feature', I guess." Yūjin stops himself verbally, as he catches wind of his attempt to enter a tirade over irrelevant information. She already professed her ignorance on the subject, he thought to himself, don't be a freaking nerd.
When Noriko's felinoid partner, having devolved back to a Nyaromon form, gave the socially eccentric young man her gratitude for looking out over her own Tamer's impulsiveness, Abel the Patamon clambers up Yūjin's jacket like a caffeinated squirrel and beams, "That makes three of us, then! Let's all be impulsive besties!" Yūjin cocks an eyebrow endearingly, mouth curled into something of a confused grimace. Sure, once again, he's the odd man out.
"Anyway," the spiky-haired young adult prepares to ask Noriko, taking a subtle glance at 'Behemoth' as it continues to purr quietly in the background, smirking coyly, "Either of you wanna lift?"

Something sparks a curiosity in Nora when Yūjin mentions that Digivices used to have different mechanisms and the card reader addition is recently knew. This clues her in that he must have been a tamer for quite some time. He does look older than her seventeen years, but not too much older. It would really explain the way he knows how to battle and use his cards.
She gives him a warm smile at the tidbit of info. "Really? That's really interesting. I've only been a tamer for maybe a month or so, so I find this stuff fascinating. I find them fascinating." She said with an added softness as she glanced down at her purring partner. To Nora, Nyx was part pet, part guardian, part extension of her heart even in the short time they had been teamed up together.
Nora laugh, a high and bright as Yūjin's partner announces that they all be impulsive buddies, but it does make her reflect on her own actions earlier. Maybe confronting the bullies hadn't been the best way to protect the younger boy, but it had had the desired results of rescuing him from their torture. What if Yūjin' hadn't appeared and gave her back up, especially given that they were tamers as well? She shook her head, long black hair flowing around her shoulders. No use wondering what if. They were all safe and sound.
Yūjin's offer to give them a ride caught her attention. Their newly acquired charge just shrugged, but still held that look of fascination, especially at the mention of riding the digital motorcycle. He gave the two tamer's info on where he lived. Nora nodded, a thrill shivering down her spine at the prospect of something so dangerous. She gave a shy smile to match Yūjin's coy one and shrugged. "Sure, if you don't mind." She paused, her shoulders dropping. "But I live in Roppongi. So if you don't want to go that far I can call my..." her voice dropped off before she nodded estatically. "Yeah, nevermind, I'll take that ride."

can't fix this, i'm hopeless. my sanity is spent, just tell me where my time went ▼ | "Cool. Hop on." Yūjin chose to keep silent about Noriko's personal reservations, as they seemed to revolve more around who she wanted to call rather than the actual idea of doing so. Based on how quickly she chose to disregard this option, it stood to reason that it was likely to be somebody that probably wouldn't approve of her decisions.
The young man didn't even need to say a word – he had a pretty good idea. Plus, it was fair enough for Noriko to have her doubts; Yūjin did kind of look like one of those biker punks that liked to wheel around Asakusa.
He motioned for his two soon-to-be-passengers to follow behind as slender legs carefully lifted back over the machine's big and bulky frame. Yūjin takes a glance down at the dashboard and blinks with amazement at how quickly he is able to understand the motorcycle's interface, despite it being built for a Digimon.
"Just so I feel safe, have you ever driven this thing before?" Abel asks Yūjin with a twinge of concern, as this was the first time he had ever seen 'Behemoth' active and ready for use. He adds further, after it crosses his mind, "Or, like, at all?" He makes sure to tuck himself neatly between his friend's lap, ready to hold on for dear life in case things went south all of a sudden.
"Relax, Abel, it'll be fine. I think..." Not the most confidence-boosting thing to say, but the motorcycle didn't feel like it was hard to handle. In fact, it felt as if it were... understanding of his inexperience? Could a machine even sense that kind of stuff? "I wonder if this thing has GPS..." Yūjin absentmindedly touches the sleek panel in front of him, and a flash of red emanates as if he had pushed a tangible button down, triggering a gasp of surprise.
A robotic male voice spouts from a hidden speaker inside the vehicle's armored plating, "Auto pilot engaged." Shitshitshitshitshit! As 'Behemoth' begins to churn and quake beneath everyone's bodies, Yūjin pushes the same spot several more times frantically, causing the bike to suddenly desist its increase of engine intensity once the red flash happened a second time; evidently, there was a delay in how much time had to pass before another option could be 'chosen'. "Auto pilot disengaged. Manual ride enabled." The Tamer sighed in relief.
"You're a real Gō Mifune, you know that?" Abel decides to crack a joke at the expense of his human friend, much to Yūjin's chagrin.
"Says the guy who gets beaten by a gust of wind faster than he can break one." Oof, a double-whammy in one swing? He's learned well, Abel ponders with a sense of fulfillment, happy to make the mood even lighter for everyone involved on this happy little trip back to Roppongi. "It's the Hills, right? Or are you close by?" Yūjin asks Noriko aloud as he intuits another place on 'Behemoth' to push a finger into. As he does, a virtual holograph of Nishi-Shinjuku emerges from several thin beams of light, much to both Tamer and Digimon's amazement.
Abel whistles like a child watching the main event at a gadgets exposition, "Oooh, the Mach Five can't do that!"
"No, it certainly cannot..." Even Yūjin has to agree with his partner's observations, despite not having any kind of idea as to what Abel was making references to, seeing as he lacked the time necessary to invest in anime these days.

Noriko settled on the bike after having tucked Nyx safely away in her side bag. It was one of the more professional ones her stylist insisted she carry for such events as she had done earlier, but she usually preferred a backpack since meeting her Digimon partner.
The curious tamer glanced around Yūjin's tall frame, trying to get a good glimpse of the digital monstrosity she sat on, eyes widening owlishly at all the blinking lights and slick interface. The teen let out a startled yelp as it began to rumble and roar to life under her while the young boy behind her let out a whoop of glee. Well at least someone was excited.
She felt, rather than saw Yūjin sigh as he was able to turn off the auto pilot mode. Nora flushed slightly as she realized just how close they were. It wasn't necessarily Yūjin and she was uncomfortable, especially since the older boy assisted in their rescue mission, it was just that she was young, sheltered, naive and had never been this close to a boy or a boy with a motorcycle.
"No you're correct, it's the Hills," she answered, the crimson on her cheeks flushing more as she realized he would have to see her house. Noriko wasn't one to resent her upbringing, seeing as she was definitely more fortunate than others, but people tended to think differently of her when they saw where she came from. And right now, after today's experience, and someone treating her like she was normal human, and not something fragile to be locked away, she wanted to keep that interaction going.
"Oh, but you can drop him off first if you want. I'm sure it's closer." She added, referring to the young boy behind her.

can't fix this, i'm hopeless. my sanity is spent, just tell me where my time went ▼ | "Destination: Roppongi Hills. Is this correct?" The motorcycle blurts out in that echoed robotic voice, following this question with a visual display between what appeared to be two pictoglyphs that may or may not have represented the choices of 'Yes' and 'No'. Yūjin and Abel look at one another with hesitation before the former lifts a finger to select the image on his left. The glyph disappears in a flash, and the interface lights up with an assortment of neon colors. "Destination confirmed. Estimated time of arrival is fifteen minutes."
"This is even better than the Mach 5! It's like that one car from that American TV show!" Abel chirps ecstatically as 'Behemoth' continues to wow and amaze him, with all the bells and whistles proving to be a little overwhelming for the Tamer. "You know, the one that talks?" Yūjin merely sighs as he gathers his bearings at last, manages to intuit more of the machine's control scheme, then adjusts his physical stature as a visual cue for his two other passengers (three, if you counted Noriko's Nyaromon) to hold on tight.
"I'll try to make sure and go as slow as I possibly ca–aaaAAAAAN!?" As if the vehicle had a mind of its own, the crankshaft spun forward without any input from its rider as three leather straps acting as seat belts came whizzing out from beneath their frames, fastening the trio of humans down as 'Behemoth' revved up exactly four times before lurching forward and cleanly onto the streets, shredding across concrete like a bat out of Hell.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

Any feelings of embarassment were replaced by fear and terror, but excitement and something almost like joy, like flying broke loose in the teen as they peeled off into the city. She let out a surpsied yell, actually scrunching up closer to Yūjin.
The wind tore at her, whipping her clothes and long black hair around her tiny frame and her yells were all but lost to the torrent around her.
Nora had heard the computer announce an arrival time of fifteen minutes, but it felt like fifteen seconds and ffiteen years compressed together, feeling so short, yet the rush still seemed to stream on even as they pulled up.
Nora wobbled slightly when they arrived, steady herself and clutching her bag. She blinked, slightly dazed. "Oh, uh thanks for the ride," she mumbled, glancing at Yūjin before glancing up at the gleaming tower of her mega-high-rise home. She was unsure of what to do, but what else was there to do besides head up to her home? Her eyes flicked slightly, a kind of sadness at making a friend then having to walk away. "I guess this is goodbye?" she said, but it was more of a question lilting in her voice.
