CARD CONVENTION MISTAKEOUT
“You even know what you’re waiting for?”
Ryuta sighed from beneath his mask; this had to be the twentieth time in a row his partner had asked what exactly they were doing on top of a roof overlooking one of Akihabara’s busiest shops. Like normal people.
“It’s called a stakeout, Trace,” he said, glancing at the veemon from the corner of his eye, then back to the shop entrance. “You know there’ve been several attempted robberies on this street. This is the only shop that hasn’t been hit yet, and it’s one of the bigger ones here. Someone’s gonna go for it sooner or later.”
The veemon let out a big sigh of his own and flopped onto his back. “Yeah yeah, whatever. Still think you’re wasting your time, but you do you I guess. Just wake me up when something actually happens.”
Ryuta rolled his eyes. “Sometimes I wonder how I got stuck with the world’s most tired Digimon.”

Noriko strolled through the crowds, taking in the various vendors that made a walkway up the massive convention center looming up ahead. She had just paused to throw away the fake cards she had been cheated into after a rather anxiety-inducing show down between her partner, Nyx and a Numemon-clad Impmon.
She had merely shook her head, exasperated and frustrated, maybe even a little angry, but she didn't feel like going back to confront the little con-artist. The Japanese tamer especially didn't want to give her hot-headed partner a reason to go back and pick even more of a fight.
Sure enough as she got closer to the main hub of the event, more and more vendors had set up shopping, clustering even up to the front entrance. And also local business were taking advantage of the holiday-like environment. She had weaved in and out of the shops, picking up a new bag to carefully tuck Nyx away she had just shredded her last one, but now she had decided to head into the main con. ♡

On the main convention floor, there was quite a bit to do. Pose with cosplayers of different digimon cards currently released, buying the actual trading card packs that many were selling, and playing the actual game. Like Kimura was doing at this very moment, deciding to involve himself in a little tournament they all were having. The leader of the Royals had a penchant for games, but he wasn't any kind of Yugi Moto. Despite his status as King, games were simply an exercise for his mind at this point. Not like he wouldn't find many low quality opponents at a local tournament. He actually just got done beating an 8 year old in a very quick match; Although nothing brutal was said.
He might be a fucking asshole, but mean to children? Nah, that's not how he rolls. You have to be at least eighteen years or older to be properly roasted. Why judge someone who was just getting their start in life-- especially why judge anyone over card games? Maybe if you acted like a pompous ass or just played like an idiot, sure. Really, all you gotta do when it comes to children is make sure they enjoyed the experience and not to crush them too hard. Don't want to hear some brat whining & crying all day, then you have to deal with their dumb parents. All things that weren't necessary for him at this moment.
So, there he was yet again, roaming the floor, waiting for his next match. Not much to do until they call your name and proceed with the event at hand. Not like he'd plan on buying more cards at the moment-- can't change your deck in the middle of a tournament. As if he'd need to; This deck helped him survive so many years ago, what would there be to change? It might not be perfect, but it is quite literally some of the most unique cards in existence. Probably because of the way he attained them, instead of opening up sleeve upon sleeve searching for the right things.
Having your own custom made deck was an enjoyable feeling, reminded you that you have no 'mirror match', as they say. Some people enjoyed playing mainstream strategies, but what is the fun in playing a strategy against itself? That doesn't follow the art of war & there was a pretty obvious reason why that was made. Even in that book, it's a set of strategems and not a real strategy. Just bits and pieces you can put together to create one. Maybe the man should look through his cards once more to try and look for new ideas that he had yet to consider. Most of his moves were made on the fly with what had been drawn the previous turn.
That lead him to leaning on the guard rail and inspecting all of his digi-modify cards. Not like it mattered who saw, what were they gonna do? There wasn't any water to throw them into & it wasn't like people couldn't watch you steal them. If anyone could steal from a man like Kimura Kyoryoku that is. You don't get to his point in life by letting people do what they want with the things you value. Even if someone tried to take them, it wouldn't be any struggle getting them back before the next match started.

CARD CONVENTION MISTAKEOUT
The building Ryuta perched on just so happened to be the convention centre. He was doing his absolute best to ignore the noise below and his natural urge as a raging nerd to go immerse himself in it. Currently he was not Tucker Ryuta, he told himself; he was the hero Vigilance and it was his duty to -
A flurry of shouts went up from the shop he had been watching. A man in worn leather jacket came hurtling out brandishing a bag. He knocked another man down in the process and made straight for the convention centre.
“Crap!” Ryuta cried. “He probably thinks he can get lost in the crowds down there!”
Together with Trace he hurried down the fire escape and plunged into the convention crowds in pursuit of the thief, not care one bit about the looks this drew towards himself and his Digimon.
“Get back here!” he yelled.

Noriko was now edging her way into the lines to get into the main con, brandishing the pass she had bought earlier in the week. As people pressed into each other, eager to get to the main event, shouts raised up, catching much of everyone's attention, including Nora's.
Her curtain of black hair whipped around, eyes widening to see what alll the commotion was about. Being so short, she was unable to see above anyone, until her partner popped out of her bag, a curious glint in the BlackGatomon's eyes, briefly meeting the bereft glance of her tamer, climbing onto the teen girl's shoulder.
Nyx's ears twitched before her head whipped around, her sharp gaze narrowing on two figures scaling down the side of the con building. "Looks like their chasing after someone Nori. Looks like a human and a Veemon."
Nora shook her head, wondering what could cause a tamer and Digimon to be that high up but much less start coming down. Maybe they had been trying to get into the convention center without actually paying?
The sound of boots stomping on the pavement had everyone turning around again until the crowd began to part erratically, con-goers shoved left and right as a man in a ratty leather jacket stumbled through the crowd, before dexteriously throwing himself over the turn-style-ticket-gate.
Nora gasped as she was shoved into another unsuspecting woman, stumbling to gain her balance. She breathlessly uttered a half-apology before throwing her tickets down onto the small counter and rushing forward to attempt to stop the man. What could he want? He looked like he was being chased, but by what?
