Noriko was crouched off to the side, pressing her thin back against a brick wall as she shrugged off her bag and began digging, making a mental count of all her supplies. Sharp amber eyes glinted in the dim alley light as Nyx took in her tamer, clad in an unassuming outfit of jeans, a simple gray tee and her favorite Converse.
"I think we have everything," the teen muttered under her breath before glancing back at the BlackGatomon smoldering against the wall, shouldering her bag.
"You're sure about this? You're sure you want to get into this crossfire?" Her normally blase, sarcastic partner had an air of solemnity about her today.
The young Japanese's teen's eyes flashed, momentarily betraying the worry. Not just worry about something happening to her or her partner, but also worry that her father would find out she hadn't been dropped off by one their security teams to go to a study session for kids potentially interested in the Hypnos faction in the future (seeming fitting with the mounting tensions in the city) but also worry about not being good, not being able to reach enough people across the small artificial island currently at war.
"Yes I'm sure," Nora replied with a more steady voice that she thought possible. She had recieved the message that morning from the ever-growing list of contacts in her phone of other No-Namers, the loose network of vigilante tamers trying to help others, including the ones left in the wake of the battles for Odaiba.
Nora straightened up, shouldered her bag and stepped out, glancing around. This particular street was pretty peaceful, but she had heard sounds of commotion not too far off. Even though their home in the Roppongi Hills was not far off at all it felt like they were worlds and light years away.
What had once been a thriving neighbhor hood facing the water with all it's eclectic restaurants, shops, night clubs and also one of the few places you could go swimming, it had been a tiny little vacation to Nora in her childhood years. Her own bedroom could peek out at the Rainbow Bridge and the island.
Nora sighed and began trekking through the mostly empty street, but when she turned left, her heart twisted in broke, but steeled her resolve even more. The teen broke out into a run at the sight of the first person. It didn't seem too bad, but sighs of a recent scuffle were evident. "What can I do to help? I have water, a few snacks, are you hurt anywhere?" The words tumbled out, but she couldn't help herself as the excitement grew, her own selfish ambition of being something larger than herself.
