[attr="class","prodigi_box"] OVERVIEW [attr="class","prodigi_text"] Angel was born to a Japanese father and a Mexican mother, and grew up in her home city of Merida, Mexico. His father was a typical businessman, while his mother worked as an EMT in Merida. While the two never married due to their different responsibilities, both of his parents were part of his life, with his father visiting whenever time allowed. For the first four years of his life, Angel had a happy, if unorthodox childhood, and was very happy. Then the virus happened. During the crisis, his mother worked to help as many people as she could, before she herself was killed. Angel was devastated, as was his father when he got the news. [break][break] This created distance between them as Angel came to live with his maternal grandfather, who had never been terribly fond of the boy. He wasn’t mistreated, but nor was there any love lost between them, and the next four years he lived in Merida was somewhat lonely. During this time he started to retreat in on himself more and more, and it became apparent as his grades suffered and he began getting into fights at school over seemingly small things. [break][break] Eventually, his father finally stepped in, deciding maybe a change of scenery would work. Moreover, he felt guilty over distancing himself from his son following his mother’s death and wished to make amends. With the enthusiastic consent of Angel’s grandfather, he took custody of his son and took him back to Tokyo with him. The initial adjustment was rough, with Angel having to learn a language he had only spoken bits and pieces of in his childhood and having to adjust to an entirely new culture that he only knew in passing. Then of course came the issue of being the odd man out among his peers, which in a homogenous nation like Japan wasn’t exactly difficult. [break][break] In spite of all of this, within two years he had started to open up a bit more, little by little. The two things that helped play into this were a newfound passion for martial arts, which he began to learn about by joining his school’s club. While at first his father was unsure about it given his history of fighting, it proved to be a healthy outlet for some of his emotions. The other thing that played into his recovery was the card game digi-modify. The conditions of his mother’s death had given Angel a somewhat morbid fascination with Digimon, and the cards gave an outlet for that. He didn’t really play the game, but he did enjoy collecting and looking at the cards. His father holds a personal hatred for Digimon and tamers, owing to what the virus did to the woman he loved, and to his son, but he allowed Angel to collect the cards since they seemed to do him good. [break][break] In spite of his progress, however, at 14 he’s still a bit of a shut-in. He does go to school more than he did as a kid, but has a bad habit of skipping class when he feels like it, still only doing the minimum to be able to pass and to stay in his club. Furthermore, in spite of the more social activities he involves himself in, he still keeps people at a distance, and has developed a bit of a reputation as being a jerk, if not an outright delinquent. [break][break] However, there is a part of him that does care about others. The part that lead him to seek out the No-Namers when he met Labramon, his partner and, as far as he’s concerned, only close friend. As much as he may act like he doesn’t care about other people, he knows what it’s like to lose someone, and knows that he wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Moreover, he respects the sacrifice his mother made all those years ago and wants to honor it the only way he can. And so when the opportunity to do good and help people fell into his lap, he jumped at the chance. [break][break] Of course, given his father’s hatred for Digimon, he’s had to be creative. So instead of playing vigilante as Angel, he dons a white rabbit mask and goes as “Liebre”, the Spanish word for hare, and does what he can to prevent anyone from having to go through what he has. | [attr="class","prodigi_box"] TRAIT(S) [attr="class","prodigi_text"] FLY ON THE WALL [break] What the No-Namers lack in vocal expression and community pride, is compensated for by complete anonymity within the common masses, allowing them to do the one thing that other factions often choose to overlook: hide in plain sight. As long as the trait holder is not an active participant in combat, meaning that they are not targeting or contributing to an exchange of blows with another individual, they cannot be targeted by attacks, skills, or effects that specifically require the user to select one (1) target. |
